Man I am in the same boat. Im on 285's with Icon Stage 5 recently rebuilt, rear has the RXT leaf pack and airbags. I carry a FWC Swift. Looking at doing 35's but I pound miles on road trips. I was gonna do the same mods with the OTT and 5.29's. The question is will the truck still be reliable to do big miles or do the 35's stress things more?

Also anyone OTT their truck with over 100k on it? Im at 112 and thinking of doing it lol.

Dang dude! That is some commitment right there. :sawzall::eek: Ha

But yea, I was SET on 33's bc i really didnt want to get into any serious clearance modifications. But now that I'll have the cmr AND btf lca's, Hoping I can clear 35's now with no issues. I can handle a fender trim and pinch weld, maybe some light coercion with a bfh (did all that with my 1st gen) but trying to avoid drastic measures this go around.. -38 wheels aren't going to help either, but should have lots of clearancing ability with the btf lowers paired with adjustable uppers.

Well, that's what 5.29's and ott should take care of I gather.. Reducing the stress and load on your drivetrain and engine. But you'll still see slightly increased wear intervals on components anytime you lift or modify. But nothing to drastically reduce reliability.

I understand the first part for performance and transmission shifting, I guess I was speaking more from the component aspect. I was curious if people with 35's are running stock CV's, steering, and tie rods. It sounds like it is not a problem. Are you planning on leaving all that stock? Why are you doing aftermarket lower control arms with 35's? Have you seen the JD Fab Lower Arm Pivot Setup?

Yeah leaving all that stock. Might look into beefier tie rods, but idk about that either. I think I like the notion of not going with hd tie rods, only bc I'd rather have those break (and carry a couple spares) than potentially causing rack damage.

And the btf lcas push the wheel forward 3/4". Kinda the same purpose as the jd fab kit. But that kit is geared more towards heavy offroading. Which I don't plan on doing much of. Just occasional. Otherwise I'd consider it. Will probly do spindle gussets and cam tab gussets. And shackle hangers. Bout it tho.

With those LCAs and a CMR you probably just need to flatten the pinch welds and do a little fender trimming. However you will still rub on the uppermost portion of your fenderwell with 35s unless you run bumpstop spacers or tub it.

My stock CVs are still holding up just fine. I started oozing some grease out of my outer tie rod ends and just started on my LBJ after running 35s for almost 4 years now but nothing has broke aside from flattening the lca alignment cam tab on a hard hit.
Aside from that I will most likely just continue to replace parts as they go with OEM, considering if you beef up each component, it stresses out the next component in line. Easier to replace a tie rod end than a steering rack or a cv vs a diff.

37s been on for just one 4-day long wheeling trip but no issues there at all as well. I did set up the truck to be lightweight though; about 5300 with me in it and half a tank of gas.
