BTW do the TRD's come with full time 4x4? I'm probably saying this wrong, but it's my understanding that there is this and "part time" 4x4 (4 on the fly?).

it's 4x4 (meaning selectable 2x4, 4x4 high, 4x4 low). to me AWD means the computer selects when and how to engage the system, and most are like 70%rear 30% front until slippage and then the computer will put it to 50% both.

    i'm no mechanic though!

That's way more than I knew. What kind of offroading can the selectable 4x4 do? Or better, what shouldn't be done? I'm trying to figure this out on my SR5 4x4. This is the first time I've had a 4x4 of any type.

Figure I'll post mine now! Picked it up last week (Dec. 30th)! Couldn't be happier with the colour! The DCSB is perfect for what I need! Saved my ass a few times yesterday driving home on highway 2 (Alberta members will know the mess that highway is in the winter haha) pure ice on and blowing snow in places and the Tacoma kept it composed and together and while other cars spun in front of me!
The first photo was the first time I saw it 2 months ago. it was the first OR DC I had ever seen in Canada haha and ended up being the one I purchased!

most awd vehicles are front wheel drive with part time rear wheel assist. for full time awd systems it's still usually a front wheel bias

Love this truck and the inferno color! It even looks great dirty. I've owned a lot of cars and trucks in my 20+ years driving and this is by far my favorite hands down.

I wondered what it would look like dirty...friggin awsome! Seriously, I was wondering what it would look like if the paint is left to oxidize over time (like if ya never wax it). I was convinced it would still look great.

    I'm gonna keep mine forever!

I don't plan on never waxing, but clean or dirty this color is sweet!

I plan on passing it down to my daughter or son who are only 10 and 8 now. So, barring anything catostrofic I will have this truck for a loonngg time.
