Wanna...that's gonna be hot. Love the extang btw. Make sure to replace your non locking tailgate with an aftermarket locking one. It comes with instrux and is easy peasy if you haven't done it before. Or you could have the dealership do it as a part of the deal. Then your bed is a lockbox.

Looks great man. Just a thought on those wheel rings, they are more than just cosmetic "fake beadlocks". As someone who does a fair amount of wheeling in my 2012 Baja, those rings have totally saved my wheels from destruction. Some call them fake beadlocks, I call them rock rings, and if not for them, my TRD wheels would be trashed. Personally I love the look and have gotten lots of compliments, but more importantly, they DO serve a purpose. Its a lot cheaper to replace one of those rings than an entire wheel. Just my .02 cents.

Nice truck! Looks like they added some heat shrink tubing or some kind of rubber to the line on the rear shocks.

Tim, I'm way ahead of you on the lock thing. My P&L is just waiting for the truck to put it on. I may be one of the few who has a bunch of mods and accessories, but without a truck as yet! The Extang ships on the 22nd, per an email Friday.

Regarding overall security, I do have a concern that the Extang may be pried up at the rear to expose the spring loaded hooks. 'll have to look into that possibility when the time comes.

By the way, I'm considering doing my emblems also.

A late question here... Your "Inferno"... Is that a new color or your name for Barcelona Red?

Wanna-you're right that the bed really won't be secure, it's definitely pryable by anyone who really wants to get in there. I've had them on 3 tacos and haven't them broken into yet. It's like a bike chain, it'll just slow people down a little. And now that I see your build I can tell you are indeed way ahead of me on mods, that's a badass truck. Oh, and inferno is a new color, it's only on the pro and it's oarangish. Post pix when your new whip comes in.

Netman, good advice on the rings. I figured that they must serve some purpose. I think I'm going to get them anodized black just cuz my preference for black wheels.

Vijay, just read your thread, that's one unique truck, How's the gearbox? Bet it's tight! I didn't read the whole thread but saw your question about tonneau covers. I'm on my third xtang trifold and it's been great. It's hard so you can actually walk on it...I wouldn't go jumping on it but I put kayaks on my roof all the time and have no problem standing on the xtang. It's also super easy to remove, just loosen two wingnuts and it's off. I'll look at the rest of your post now, you may have updated it.

Huge congrats. I just saw one last week at my local dealer when I was getting a oil change, they are sweet.

I would leave the wheel rings on, they look good and protect those painted rims. I assume that if you are buying the Pro, you will off road, you will regret taking them off soon.

Nice truck, the color just doesn't do much for me.

I'm not a huge fan of orange, but for some reason I am really liking that inferno look on the tacoma. Awesome truck and a huge congrats! I'm guessing you get a lot of random people come up to you asking if that is a custom paint job etc? lol

if you are planning on doing any wheeling put the rings back on. Mine are abused enough to justify their use and they ahve saved the wheel from lots of damage. They are not terribly expensive to replace.
