    Hi All,

    1997 Tacoma 2.4L inline 4.

Need to replace plugs, plug wires, the distributor cap, and rotor.

Looking for parts recommendations for those parts as well and a heads up on what I need to watch out for....I've worked on British cars (MGs) for years, but this is my first Tacoma.

    Thanks in advance,

You can find spark plug specs for your truck in the owners manual. If you don't have a physical copy of it, you can find a pdf here. The 2.4 is a little less picky, but stick to Denso NGK for plugs and wires. Not sure on the distributor cap and rotor... but probably can't go wrong with Denso if they make those parts as well.

    Clock Volt meter/LSPV Delete/Hyundai 16’s/FP gauge/after 9months of wrenching ZERO oil leaks
    Easy peasy
Hardest bolts to deal with are the 2 steel air resonator bolts that go into block. Unless u have a mirror, like trying to thread a sewing needle (upon re-assembly)

    Also…..while cap/rotor off
See if there is oil seepage from bottom of distributor
    Simple O-ring

mine is 96 2.4L pretty sure same prt#
