I just realized I had one of these on my truck that looks like crap. I didn't really notice it until I put black wheels on. Now it really stands out.

I'll try some of the suggestions in this thread. Thanks

Were you able to remove it? If so what method worked for you? About to delve into this myself for some decals that are intact but slowly peeling at the edges and holding dirt.

Sorry, I haven't had time to mess with it. Let me know if you are successful though and what worked.

    Thanks.

Will do! Take a look at this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7943K7Wl19c kind of painful to listen to but looks like a decent technique.

Ok I’m pulling this thread back up....what causes this film to turn brown at the edges anyway? Is it poor installation? Is it factory and can we buy replacements?

If someone hadn't replied to this just now I would have forgotten all about it! Based on a suggestion from a Facebook group.. I bought 3M 03618 Adhesive remover and some plastic razor blades with scraper handles. It took some scraping, but it came off pretty freaking easily. I did the entire driver's side in about an hour.

I took a pic about half way through. I'd done the vertical portion and you can see the before on the bottom part. It looks so much better now that it's all gone!

These are the products I bought.. just for reference. Hope this helps someone!

Hard to tell without a picture, but your problem is either one of two things - UV degradation, from the sun beaming down on your truck over the years, or literally dirt and grime. If it's just dirt collecting around the edges, you can remove this via claybar. UV degradation will require replacement to remedy.

I used tub o towels to clean mine . 2nd pic shows the edge still dirty . Already had cleaned film before thinking about taking pics .Was pretty dirty . . Cleaned most of it well. 1st pic cleaned edges with tub o towels .Need to use finger nail with towel to get all dirt out . Also clean interior well. On door panels gets dirt out of all the fine grain of the panel .
Hell it cleans everything lol. Home, work what ever. Pretty amazing .
Was going to change film but cleaned up good .

Talked to a guy that does PPF and he said that the best way to remove old film is by pulling in the opposite direction of where it's getting removed. Like this guy does in the video below. I pulled the piece off my hood a couple weeks ago on a 2016, I was just pulling the corner to see how easy it was and then fire up the steamer. Since it was a hot day I didn't even get to the steamer as it pulled right off as shown in this video. Wasn't even any cleanup of glue residue needed, I had a panel prep type product on hand which easily removed the line of dirt that was at all the edges.
