Thanks all - exactly what I needed. OK, so it sounds like the OR suspension "tuning" means it will rapidly absorb bumps without moving the body - which probably also translates to being bit softer when on road. The question remains for me - does this "softer" suspension (and or leaf spring differences) impact towing behavior? The ratings are the same (with tow package)... so I'm assuming no...

Regarding traction, did a search and found this awesome answer:

Yeah, my house is a year old as well. Holds 4 cars, golf cart, and a small bar and work shop area. I'm right near the bay here in Texas, so everything is on pilings. So I had to design the house a certain way, and 8' x 8' garage doors was all i could do... I don't want/need a full size truck, and never plan on anything larger than a Taco or Touareg.

So i'm hoping someone can measure their actual truck, mirror-to-mirror and let us know.
I'm guessing 89" and change..... just a guess. (side mirror length, minus fender protrusion, times two, plus 75.2")

If you ever lived in an area with significant snow you'd be quickly convinced otherwise.

Using a straight edge and with the tape measure touching the rubber window trim the mirror measures 9 3/8". Figure 1/2" less from where the mirror is attached.

Not about to measure mirror to mirror without someone else here.

You can fold the mirrors in, or at least the drivers side without getting out of the truck, when pulling into the garage.

Keep them oiled real well and go in real slow and I'm sure the wall will close the passenger side for you :)

I could just cut mirror-sized notches into the sides of my garage door.

I better get my larger tires and 2" lift before i cut the holes though!

Mike, thanks for the info. Any additional measurements would be helpful. no rush, just when you have time. Maybe the estimated distance the mirrors stick out past the
over fenders". not just the door. And/or, get a friend to help measure the actual mirrors.

folding the mirror/mirrors in each time would be a hassle, and maybe a deal breaker... There might be a really nice TRD OR for sale at the Clear Lake Toyota lot here in 6 weeks or so...

    Probably deserved that :)

OK - so back to the leaf springs and towing performance. Any differences?

not relevant to towing... trying to figure out if there are any differences between the OR and SPORT in towing behavior.

There is more relevance in axle spacing than OR vs Sport....

Long bed won't fit in the garage :) So I'll be towing with a DCSB...
