Nice to have that ECT button and the bumpshift auto trans. Nice to have all the switches illuminated. The 2016 is nicely equipped stock, hence the bump in price. If you want best MPG I guess you let the ECU control shifting, if you want max power you can either push the ECT button or you can use the selectshift. Nice to have the bumpshift also for decelerating. Seems like a pretty sophisticated auto trans.

Some of us do have to commute this thing to work during the week aside from getting it muddy on the weekend. I get 16 mpgs with my 2004 tundra. I'm hoping to do a little better being 12 years later. Even the epa's 20mpg would be an improvement. It's not that i can't afford it, I'm just a cheap f*ck. I already send enough of my hard earned cash to the sheiks in sand land.

I totally agree, it should be better. It's not my favorite thing in the world but I drive a lot as well and was worried about gas mileage for so long until my friend told me, the main thing is that you enjoy your ride and are comfortable doing it if you drive a lot. So my current car takes premium gas and my new truck won't get very good mileage. Oh well. First world problems... lol

Well for you cheap F'cks, some of us are giving up 40mpg and the required yearly $$ to maintain that in a german auto.

I look forward to my 18/23/20 TRD OR AT in the next week or so.

Why? It will be the same equipment behaving well until I decide to retire.

"Fun" vehicles I will rent while traveling. Looking forward to a reasonable gasser around town and being able to take the wife places she hasn't been during the year.

    Great detailed review!

When you get a chance, I'm interested in seeing the light output on the HID's, please. Thanks!

I used Toyota of Surprise at $700 over invoice. It was a pleasantly easy buying experience.

Avondale Toyota will have then same truck but $1500 over invoice.
Only options it has is the tow package and carpet floor mats.

Congrats on your 2016 purchase. Still have not seen a 2016 at the dealerships in Virginia yet.

most are expecting end of month, even dealers that have them "listed" online, do not have them on the lot.

They are not HIDs. They are still halogens, just with projection style lighting. I am interested how mine will be when I get my truck because my Morimoto Bi-xenon upgrade was the best thing I ever put on my current car for these country roads. I see every animal and thing a quarter mile away. I may be modifying them if they don't satisfy me.

I don't think you thought that statement through. Its about minimizing our losses and not making it worse by changing things that will have a negative impact unless we really need or really want them like giant tires. Right now I'm trying to figure out what tire to buy to replace my stock BFGs that won't have a negative impact on mileage and may even offer slightly better mileage. I would love the look of a lifted truck with big wheels but I've been there done that and never liked the performance results such as reduced MPG and less "pep".

I do believe the Sport package is supposed to get slightly better mileage with its tires. I think it would be hard press for people to notice it though.

Holy balls it's HOT out where you are! How does the A/C work at 107 degrees?

Does keyless detect your presence and unlock the doors like all the other toyota/lexus push-to-starts?

I get it but each change you make can add up to a significant difference and usually its negative. I'm not trying to tell anyone what to do just sharing my past experience. With my new 15 taco I mostly use it for work and put a lot of miles on so I'm more focused on better or same MPG and better highway driving characteristics.
