I'm a lurker here, but a long time toyota truck addict. I've owned multiple 5vz vehicles, some were motor swaps others were OEM. but all had some level of misfire in their lives. the point of this thread is to hopefully help other people who want to fix their injectors and upgrade from aisin to denso. Im a mechanical engineer and my company specializes in modified turbo engines, Denso and bosch are the only injectors we use (but we dont sell or support 5vz so please dont call unless you need a turbocharger)

^^this is an OEM 3.4L V6 truck injector, 25lb/hr flow flow rate. Toyota trucks ie Tacoma, tundra v6 and 4runner all got these brown Aisin brand fuel injectors.

    Flow rate: 25 lbs/hr, 264 cc/min at 43.5 psi (3 bar)
    Resistance: 14.4 Ohms

When youre mileage is somewhere around 220k-250k miles an OEM Aisin injector, or two, is likely to fail. these typically have an internal solenoid failure at or near this point. Note: Solenoid failure is most obvious during a warm start, they tend to behave fine at cold start. They also have a really poor plastic cap design that is junk IMO. You can clean/service or replace with new OEM but the old solenoid windings are still there.

On the other hand, the Lexus RX300, toyota highlander and a few other vehicles got the identical size 25lb/hr injector from Denso.

    Flow rate: 25 lbs/hr, 264 cc/min at 43.5 psi (3 bar)
    Resistance: 14.4 Ohms

This Denso injector is superior to Aisin, it does not fail. It has a one piece stainless steel injector nozzle. And it is plug and play replacement for 5VZ-Fe. no changes, just swap the injector

    95-97 5vz denso equivalent lexus es300 = 23250-20010
    98-03 5vz denso equivalent lexus rx300 = 23250-20020 or 23250-0A010

For a cost effective supplier, you can buy (6) Injector-Rehab.com reman denso injectors for $95 here

Whatever you do Do not buy the cheap ebay injectors for $59, they are fraudulent knockoffs and will fail

i hope this helps! good luck

Would these help with pinging on a SC 3.4L? I am going to be installing a supercharger on my engine soon and want to get all of the smaller add ons as well.

Now this is info I love to see. I knew there had to be a Denso equivalent but I never dig deep into it

Likely not since they’re the same flow as the originals

Five-O injectors are good, I was using 650cc ones on my 5vz before I blew it up and didn't have any issues prior.

    https://www.fiveomotorsport.com/fuel-injectors/

If you're pinging with the SC, it can be cleaned up with a proper tune, but becomes more difficult the hotter it gets outside. Timing and fuel delivery from 1700 to 2700 RPMs is absolutely critical. There are transition areas from closed to open loop that can happen, and it's also where boost can begin to build depending on gear loading.

    To the OP
Have you had any experience with injector-rehab?
Their price for the set is almost to good to be true, for example motor-west wants 239.00 for what sounds like the same injectors. Same cleaning and testing etc..
I’m in the market for a set is the reason for my interest.
    thanks

what percentage of tacomas do you think will eventually hit 500k? unless there's some other benefit to the densos, i'd bet a 2nd set will probably outlive the rest of the vehicle.

the real PSA here is the price of those remans if they are legit and will get 250k out of them for that cheap.

i just had mine replaced last weekend but it was short notice and unexpected (was doing valve cover gaskets/knock sensors) because we found that that the plastic tips were crumbing/disintegrating so i just went with OEM.

@SLAPS 65 injector rehab has been good for us, zero issues. got 3 sets of their injectors (one 4 runner, one taco, one tundra v6). i dont know who motor west is

@BiNiaRiS in most instances the frame will rot out before the engine, but regardless i dont like doing jobs twice. and those plastic tips are trash i dont want them in my motor

So you're not buying into the idea that the Aisin's are crap and the Denso's are better and the way to go?

Atomization is important but you won't see any real world benefit in this low power application sorry. Aisin is outta the injector bidness now, but they made good long lasting injectors. If you want higher performance multi hole injectors I can source you some, but you'll be going to the dark side with the Haltech.

The injectors I bought from Motor West a few years ago came with o-ring plus extra o-rings in case one gets pinched when you install them.

Thank you for the quick response. Toyota OEM is like $150-200 a piece so I'm just gonna go with the refurnished ones like you did. They running OK after all these years?

Yeah, it's been since about 2020, or 30,000 miles. So far so good.
I put them in when I added a supercharger to my truck.

Oh, I did have one issue, which was my doing.

I had a leaky injector (my install wasn't done correctly) and when I went to remove it I broke the bottom plastic part of the injector. It came off and got stuck in the head. I broke it removing it.
I still had my old injectors so I replaced it with one of those and thought they should all match so I pulled the motorwest injectors and put the old ones back in.
In the process of pulling the rest I broke half of them in the same way.

I emailed motorwest asking how much it would cost and would they sell me that little plastic bit.
Their response was the fastest way fix this is we'll send you another set of injectors and send the ones I broke back at no cost other than shipping.
    Excellent service.
