Inner signal lens color?

Ok Taco experts.

How come some tacos have an amber lens on the inner turn signal and some have a clear lens with an amber bulb?

Can somebody tell me if the amber yellow lens was just on 2005's or just on CA models or something like that?

 

my 08 has a yellow lens with a amber bulb, it's a Canadian model so those are also the DRL

 

2011 trd O/R with DRL's. Lense is clear, bulb is amber.

I'm trying to nail down exactly what trucks came with the amber lens

I wonder if its Canadian spec models, or perhaps just some earlier models?

 

The lens isn't truly clear on mine. It has a little bit of tint to it.

 

So here's a couple pics. You can see the one in the vehicle is yellow.





And the replacement ones are NOT yellow.

Mine on my 06 AC OR have a yellow tint, but I have since acquired another set of headlights for a BHLM and found a way to make the blinker area amber/orange. Using a stained glass window spray made by krylon. Lots and lots of coats made my lenses orange.

hhhmmmm. Where did you get the replacement from? It might be that the factory one they put a yellow tint over the turn (I have it too) and stopped on the 09/10 model. The aftermarket ones probably wont have tint in the first place, like some ive seen on ebay. Ill look at some specs, see if i can find anything.

 

I just had to have a headlight replaced. the new lens is very light yellow ( almost clear) and the original one on the other side is darker and almost orange. I have a 2008 by the way. im hoping to figure out the best way to get my headlights matching again...

 

Toyota changed it, I think and are making the more clear ones now. Dad had his replaced after an accident on his 07, and they had to replace the other to make it match. So now I have a back up driver side incase anything happens with the more darker yellow ish tint and not that super light yellow almost clear

yep, I agree, just trying to nail down when the change was made or if it applied to certain models or something

 

anyone know where to buy amber lenses to insert ? I am doing a retro fit and want to make the yellow lens amber

 

my 06 is amber too

 

I'll sell you mine if you want. I removed mine all together.

 

Ive never seen a factory taco with clear lenses. They have all had the tinted yellow ones.

My 09 SR5 has the pee yellow lens. Only clears that I have seen are on the aftermarket HLs.

 

x2 my 07 and my 10 both had/have the pee yellow ones
