That's real cool with the scope...I'm not sure how bad that really is...the guys with the experience will chime in soon.

Oh the dreaded frame rust... You're not alone, just remember that!

Pic 15 and 16 you can see multiple layers of rusted steel...like an onion, it's just gonna keep peeling until it's through to the other side. I would use a small hammer to knock on that area and see if you get perforation.

And whoever you talked to is full of:crapstorm:... I believe the warranty was extended through this year, given the frame was coated previously by Toyota under warranty.

Keeping the truck depends on how involved you want to get, in order to get to that loose rust you'll need get into the frame somehow... I was able to take care of the inside rust cause I had to cut out my bad areas allowing access.

It was worth it to me to fix the issue, but YMMV!

Thanks you all for your suggestions. I'll keep you guys updated if I get to pull the bed off and repair the frame. I tried calling multiple Toyota dealerships in MN to ask if I'm eligible. To be able to get my frame replaced, I have less than 2 months since 2018 is right around the corner (mine is 2003).
