Just curious if anyone else has rec’d a message like this from your salesman? He told me it could be up to a month longer wait, but he just doesn’t know‍♂️. I’m curious if others have had something like this and how much wait time did it add?

Just wanted to let you know that a whole batch of Tacoma's (including yours) have been randomly selected by the factory flip to "inspection status" Usually when this happens the factory may have found an issue with some of the ones that came off the same assembly line.”

Did you put a deposit down?

My Tacoma came a quart low of transmission fluid, bad Combo meter, weeping rear end and bad CPS. Many other TW members had these issues too. Not a lot of inspecting going on when the 3rd Gen was released.

Not unheard of for a dealer to sell your allocation to another customer paying a higher price.

Do you have your heart set on a 3rd Gen or would you take a 4th Gen?

I am dead set on a 2023. The 2024 just didn't look/seem right for my wife and I (LOL, we're old folks)

Did you ever find out WHAT was wrong, if anything? Also, how much of a delay did it cause?

I remember something like this with the child seat attachment points is late 2022. Something to do with the welds or something.

I did not mean to sound negative above. I love my 3rd Gen after all the first year TSBs were addressed. You might also check this site for Tacomas in stock near you

I hope you get the truck you want.

Never was told what was looked at due to the qc hold at the KC yard. Delayed it by a week

I had the same message last summer waiting for my Tacoma. The truck was delivered to the dealer 9 days later. I think they they put that message out if they're having delivery issues. Wouldn't read too much into it. I got that message as a quality control hold. Truck still came missing the Connect module. Had to bring it to the dealer to put one in.

Thanks, I’m pretty sure I will. We have a long relationship with our salesman and we trust him, I was just curious if others had this situation as I’d. Ever heard of something like this

Well, been waiting about a month - dealer checked again yesterday and my Taco is still “held for inspection”. If I knew what the problem was or a ballpark delivery time, it would alleviate a lot of concern - I don’t mind waiting for however long it takes, I just want to make sure I get that one (colors & extras).

I’ll update if I ever get it!
