I was getting ready to order a Bedrug and was told it may not stick to the bedliner. Is this true? Do you have to take out the bedliner first?
    Thanks!

should have done your research on your Tacoma, there's no bed liner in 2nd gens, the bed is composite material, what you see IS the bed.
    :D

but don't freak, these beds are almost as tough as steel ones, don't dent, and are lighter. plus they don't rust.

on the bed rug note, i have no idea how they fit in, is there an adhesive back? i'd say there's plent of surface area seeing that the bed is pretty smooth for an adhesive to stick.

I thought that was the case but wasn't sure and I wasn't able to find it spelled out for me anywhere in my searches. Thanks for the info! I've only had it a few weeks and still have a few things to learn :)

I have one. You need to order a bedrug designed for 'no bedliner.'. It is grooved on the back and has velcro sewn in. Just attach Velcro strips to the bed and it's installed.

    Hi all,

I had a bed rug for 11 yrs on my 01 GMC Sonoma - loved it and it looked as good as new when i sold the truck.

I'm considering a bed rug for the composite bed (to prevent cargo sliding and knee
comfort). Can anyone who owns one for the 2012 composite bed please advise on how it installs over the 4 corner d rings? Covers them? Cut holes?

    Thanks all!

Mine only has rings on the bed at the tailgate and there are slits in the bedrug to allow access to them.

Do they work ok? I mean ... Look ok fit ok and allow the rings to lay flat and be out of the way or do you need to tuck them under and pull them through when needed ( if you know wjat i mean?)

The rings go through and lay pretty well out of the way. I won't say they're flat, but I'm not sure mine were completely flat before.
I've never hit a knee on one.

Getting the velcro to stick can be a pain though, depending on how the bed has been maintained.

You want to get in there and completely scrub out the entire bed with Dawn detergent to remove all traces of grease and silicone.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
My bedrug just lays there; it hasn't caused me any problems. In fact, I found another Bedrug and cut out the center to sit on and protect the first Bedrug.

Soooooo... If I have a tonneau cover and never plan to run the truck with the cover open without a load on the rug...... It sits flat , no curling and therefore the adhesive hook and loop strips are not needed?
    Thanks for any replies....
