Hello everyone, I'm telling you about my most recent modification to my regular 5 lug tacoma cab: installing cruise control.
Normally this model of tacoma does not have cruise control from the factory but it is possible to install it with the correct parts
-cruise control lever: ebay > $12 June 2024
-set cables (2) to connect to ECU and ground: ebay > $10 July 2024
    -clockspring 4pin connector: ebay > $14 September 2024

In my case the clockspring that the car had with the 3-pin connector did not have continuity to the connector behind the steering wheel, which is why I connected the cruise cables from the outside to be able to check if it worked, which it did, so I had to order a new clockspring to be able to install the lever inside the steering wheel and I will take it to a shop to have it installed, it is very tedious for me to remove the steering wheel.

The new cables (my car doesn't have them from the factory either) that I installed in the connector outside the steering wheel, one goes to ground using a screw above the ignition switch, and the other signal cable goes to the passenger side computer. To be able to put them in the connectors you have to open a small plastic part and this allows you to place the pin of each cable into each connector.

I'm adding the following photos of the process:

    -clockspring 4pin conector: ebay > $14 septiembre 2024
