INSTALL HOW TO---BAMF 100% bolt on slider

Do you remember what size bolt you used. Toyota won't tell me the size and would have to order them.

Thanks, I finally was able to get one off and measure. Looks like 6/16 or 7/16. They're all mounted up just need to go get new bolts, I broke my C clamp trying to get them in!

Sorry I couldn't help you on the thread count. I don't remember what it was. I had to take it to lowes and use their template. I got 1.5" long and could probably be shorter but it doesn't matter as it's just a welded nut on the other end. So extra length won't matter.

Yes, I just used aluminum flat bar with a 3/8"ish "S" bend and drilled for the brake line retainer and slider bolt. I made 2 as my sliders had two bolts that where close to the brake lines that I didn't want rubbing. I finished them off by rounding corners and giving them a couple coats of black paint. functional and clean.

 

Ah nice. I ended up just bending them lol. just following the vending radius guidelines for tubing.

 

OK... i installed these today. I have a plastic box on the outide of the frame underneath the passenger side door. It houses some wires. i cannot put it back in its stock location because of the gusset that is on the top of one of the legs that attach the sliders to the frame. Anyone else have this issue. I have a 2015 TRD off road DCSB. I haven't found another tacoma with this same little plastic box.

 

Sub'd. Great writeup!! Just got these sliders (DCLB). Have to prep and paint first, but I'll come back to this thread in a few days for install tips. I did, however, use a floor jack to quickly line up a slider with the frame... all seems to line up well. But, I think the bolts are just barely too thick for some of the holes in the frame.


@frizbal, does the long piece with the two nuts welded to it go on the rear of the frame? I can’t tell exactly. Did you ever end up snapping a picture of this part? Thanks again! (I might have more questions later.)

Yea I just unbolted it and moved the box forward one hole. I called BAMF about this and they said that that changed in 2014 I believe. It's the electrical bits for the plug in the bed. I haven't found a long term solution for it. I haven't had any trouble with it the way it is now though. What I will prob do is once I get them dinged up and am ready to repaint I will prob relocate the gusset on that front passenger side leg. Sorry not much help. Good luck

Jerry looked at my truck when I picked up my sliders and what he ended up doing was just moving that box forward a little and securing it with just one bolt.

Yea thats what I did too

 

I would make sure you have the right bolts in the right spot when you get to the install. There are two sizes, mine all went perfect.

And the picture below should explain the lever portion. It's near the front of the truck and inside the boxed section.
