    Hello everyone,

I’ve decided on some suspension upgrades and was wondering if anyone could give me some opinions on the labor prices I’ve been quoted on for install. I want to get some Bilstein 6112s up front with 5100s in the rear and an Icon 1.5” AAL. I’ve gotten two quotes that are both at about $800 (including alignment). It seems high to me but I’ve never had suspension work done before. Is this a fair price.

You able to tighten some nuts and bolts? If so do it yourself or get with some members in your area and do it. It’s not hard to do.

    Where are you located....
For most shops that's a fair price.

Depends where you live. In the Bay Area that’s a good price. Also, I’d spend a little extra money and buy the 5160’s with the rear.

That was the original plan but everyone’s sold out with no ETA on restocking.

That’s just crazy! Where in South Texas are you? It is really not a difficult process, the only tools needed are jack stands, floor jack (could probably get away with a bottle jack), metric wrenches and sockets, ratchet, breaker bar, torque wrench (can borrow one from Auto parts store if you don’t have one), C clamps, ball peen hammer, and a marker to Mark the cam position. A helping hand is nice, but not necessary. Even if you had to buy the tools, you would save yourself a lot of money, and have the tools for future work. You also have the knowledge that the job was done right. Even if you take your time, it shouldn’t take more than 4-5 hours to complete the job. For wheel alignment, Firestone offers a lifetime alignment deal for $200, you can take it in as much as you need.

Depends on the Firestone, the one near me will do it if you're lifted. I've had the lifetime package a few years now and went there regularly until I realized they do a crap job lol. I pay for a 4wd shop to align it properly now.

It must be site specific, I have not had a problem with the Firestone in my area, in fact, they recommended the lifetime special and to bring in your truck after each oil change to adjust as needed. Happy with the quality of work, no tire or handling issues to date, my lift is mild though, at 1.5".

Same I installed 6112 5160s with a leaf pack. They didn't have any problems doing my alignment. (2inch+ all around) I've gone probably 2-3 times the lifetime pays for itself.

It took me 2 days to install my lift, I don't have any experience. Once you get one side down the other side is super quick. Rear leafs are my nightmares HAHAHAH

If you don’t want to install them yourself and don’t mind making a trip to Austin, Chris at Triple C does suspension installs for a much more reasonable price. @Texoma He does great work and is very popular with the Taco community in this area.
