Does anybody have experience installing a BAK Revolver x4s on a 2022 Tacoma?

If so, does this supplemental install sheet apply? https://bakindustries.com/images/im...6-rx2-supplemental-install-sheet-12-18-15.pdf

The link from BAK's website states that it is for years 16-21 but I'm not sure whether they just haven't updated yet to include 2022 (seeing as I don't think that there were any considerable differences with the 22 model, I'm thinking that this is the case).

The standard installation instructions are here (and supplement seems to replace the first 7 steps...but I'm not sure if it applies to a 2022) - https://bakindustries.com/images/318B0017_Revolver_X2_X4s_Install_Guide_11.12.2020_FINAL.pdf

I planned on installing this weekend and started to review instructions today not realizing that BAK's tech support wouldn't be available today (Good Friday). Still hoping to install this weekend and not waiting until they are available again to answer this question.

I think that I figured it out. The supplement are Tacomo-specific instructions to replace the first 7 steps of the more generic standard installation instructions. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I like it. It's well-built and installation was pretty easy once I figured out the supplement (took me about 2-3 hours). The embedded metal slats provide more security than a soft cover and I like the low-profile, flat black color. I've only had it for a few days though so can't speak yet as to it's durability.

Cool. I had its predecessor on my last truck. It held up well for 4 years. They made some improvements over the last model so I’m interested to see how the x4s does over time.

I had to skip the weatherstrip on the cab end of the bed to get it to sit level. Doesn’t leak any more than when it was in there.

Christ. I just shopped around for these, both the X4 and the X4S are around 1k now. Jeeze. I paid 675 for the X4 in 2016.

I have had both the x4 and X4s and love the rolling action, how compact it tucks up to the cab and doesn’t obstruct your view (since I carry a lot of bikes in the bed).

I do find the cover useless in winter since the aluminum panels freeze up and don’t work well when cold. Hope other users or potential users are living in warmer climates!

I might fab a new rail next to the rear window. Mine is up higher 1/4 inch on the driver side.

Any tips on making it more water resistant? I have the x4s on my 2005.

Does your stick up at the window and hold it off the rail?
I haven’t installed mine yet so I don’t know where it leaks from

No it is pretty flat. I spent alot of time triple checking to make sure my bulkhead seal was in the right spot and a tight fit as well. I have since applied many, many rounds of silicone weather sealant around pretty much the entire damn cover and to no avail water continues to find its way in. Not a little bit either, but a significant amount on both sides.

My dad has a 2012 silverado with maybe the cheapest tonneau soft cover money can buy and it lets not even a drop of water in. Unfortunately I think it may come down to how the trucks are made. I talked to a guy at my local camper shell/bed cover/truck accessory shop about it and apparently tacomas always leak. I think Silverados may wick water better because of the "cut outs" (for lack of a better term) meant for a ladder rack in each of the four corners of the bed.

Despite the Tacoma's potential design flaws, I refuse to believe I cant make it waterproof and haven't given up but it completely perplexes me. Probably would surprise you too because to look at it, you'd think it was absolutely water tight. Sits flush, seemingly sealed at every point of the bed. But boy is it not.

Here’s how much mine sticks up on one side. I get another pic after I finish the replacement. The stock one is flush on the other side but when you put the foam down it sits higher then.

There is 2 openings big enough to stick your finger in, in the bed itself. Not sure how much water could get in there600FCDF1-5D5C-4B23-9763-07CEE43A354F.jpg 534B8B37-368C-4B1B-B958-40A7EB8B8A4C.jpg 320744C0-BAA4-4802-ACE7-C78B74BAAEC1.jpg

On the bed rails where it’s got the raised parts and then not raised, built into the bedrail. Looks like it can leak pretty good there. Plus the little nipples on the raised part. Idk have someone close you up in there and look for light leaksFD1317C4-57E1-478E-80F2-DA9CB5C0E4D1.jpg0394638F-B449-416E-8361-2ADF89BE5E2D.jpg

Can you use the factory tie down rails with this cover?
