    Update -

I just finished the Toytec 1" diff drop. The vibration still exists. Down to 3 options.

    1) Lower lift from 1.75" to .85
    2) Remove lift altogether

    or

    3) Replace needle bearing with bushing.

My first option would be to replace needle bearing with bushing but "I" am not going to do this (unqualified) and we don't have a reputable 4x4 shop around me that I know of. My options don't look good at this point.

Doesn't have to be a 4x4 shop. Can be dealer or any qualified shop

Yes this. Just had my 2015 done with the new type needle bearing and vibration is gone. Yes I know yours is a 16 and yes I do believe people think the bushing is better but the new bearing which was free with warranty made it all nice and smooth. And no they did not put the new bearing in the 16.... Because it wasnt a big enough deal or % fall out to submit a assembly design change. The TSB is not specifically for the 16s probably because it has just not been updated yet... Complain to Toyota dealership and show them this TSB. since the front dif assembly is pratically or completely the same they should honor the TSB... Maybe

Thanks for posting the TSB. I will print it out and talk to my Toyota dealer. I saw that they have a lifted '16 on their lot so I will talk to their service adviser to see how they have it setup. I love the look of my lift and don't want to change anything at this point. I just want the vibration to go away and enjoy my new truck!

Good luck getting anything covered for free. I'm sure they'll be more than happy to work on it for a fee

I have my 16 lifted with the Bilstein 6112's I didn't notice the vibration until after I did the ToyTec Diff Drop. But regardless the vibration is there and I don't plan to do anything about it. If I go to do the bushing I will wait till warranty is up and re-gear it at the same time.

make sure you show how the vibration stops when put in 4x4 while going down the road. This is how I convinced them this was the issue.

Mine was completely free under warranty... My truck is lifted with 4000 miles when TSB was done but is a 15. Be smart. Follow the TSB to show issue.

I won't cover anything on a modified system on a vehicle. I wouldn't expect my truck to be covered either

Well you're a douche then. The dealer will do it, has done it, and will continue to do it because it is a faulty needle bearing.

Toyota offers 2-3 lift through TRD from factory so they usually don't complain if like lifts are correctly installed. I've had many lifted/modified Tacomas and others lifted with bilstein 5100s style lifts 2-3" and never had any problem with dealerships honoring warranties. Now I'm sure there are some that will be dicks about it but a 2" lift consisting of adjustable shock hardly seems damaging to the vehicle... Especially when you can prove a TSB by following TOYOYA's tech inspection instruction seen on the TSB. now if you won't cover it for no more reason then to be a dick then please contact North Charlotte Toyota, Toyota West, Flow Toyota or any of the dozen or so dealerships I dealerships I have used for warranty calms.

If a vehicle doesn't come with a lift (or whatever modification), I'm not covering any resulting issues under warranty. I get paid warranty time to fix stock vehicles. If you have the money to modify your truck, you can pay me customer pay time and I'll be more than happy to do the work.

The dealer that I purchased my truck from has a 3" lifted '16 on their lot as I type this. I am going to talk to the service manager on Monday and show him the TSB and ask questions. Hopefully he will cover it under warranty. I'm not sure why Aussiek is so vocal that it won't be covered when others have had it covered on a lifted truck. If you are being paid for your time by Toyota, why wouldn't you cover it? I assume that you are a service writer the way that you speak.

I don't work for Toyota. And I'm following my manufacturers guidelines. They aren't covering repairs on a modified vehicle, its that simple. Its like sticking a 300 shot of nitrous on your truck and expecting them to cover the engine when it blows up.

I get 6/10ths on the hour for warranty work compared to customer pay. Would you give up your salary to be a "nice guy". Or do you even have any idea how dealer flat rate works?

See that is where you are wrong. Several people have posted here on TW saying that they HAVE had their bearing replaced under the TSB from the manufacturer.
