Im not saying its a LOT quicker, but its without a doubt a little quicker. Better traction especially uphill and from a stop means better launches, less wheelspin, and more speed

Let's see how about the one that has close to 10 gs in suspension work to get power down more efficiently. The only equation for speed/"power" isn't how much horsepower your truck has, if you don't understand that statement then this conversation is effectively over since nothing else I say will likely make much sense either

On a truck with this kind of power you'd be lucky if stiffer suspension makes you 0.1 second faster. This is not an 800hp monster we're talking about. Also 10K on suspension. No. Not even close.

While I do smoke, thats because i have a spinal condition called spondylolisthesis, which means that I fell one time when I was younger and a disc in my back slipped forward and the next one up slipped backwards.

As far as the truck is concerned, im building that to take a run at the Baja 1K in a year or two when I'm ready. Theres not really much point in me going back through WHY suspension parts can make a truck faster. Im not saying it goes from a 7 second 0-60 to a 5, but I would say that it might be a tenth or two quicker in a straight line, along with a couple clicks faster around the corners, and exiting corners at higher speeds means more speed on straightaways too...
The main thing is not having to break nearly as much for corners, and being able to keep going fast for long periods of time, just like one would in a 1000 mile desert race.
You say this, but go karts experience the phenomenon I am talking about. It has less to do with the motor, and more to do with the quality of the suspension parts, of which mine are second to none essentially.

I thought you were implying that the trd pro had 10K in suspension over the other models. Either way I'm not gonna get into a dick measuring contest with you. I fully understand what suspension does to a vehicle as I've owned nothing but bikes and sporty cars that I've built up to this point.

Stevo, you need to take a look in the mirror dude, tell yourself to relax, and that what other people do is just that, what other people do. Relax.

I got you Gearheadesw, it was just a little misunderstanding anyway. With as much as ive emotionally and physically invested in my truck I cant help but get a little defensive of her :notsure:

I've built some pretty quick cars and some good offroad rigs. This post is pretty damn funny. The oem suspension is better on the street than any lifted rig.

Now if your talking on the trail than maybe the pro could get around quicker.

Even my DSM went quicker down track on stock suspension. The after market was stiff causing the car to bounce, hop down the track. OEM worn out suspension allowed car to squat and smoothly launch.

Which is why i have ADJUSTABLE suspension. Did you miss the 'DSC' designations on both shocks?

If your truck was bouncing all over the track, the shocks were tuned improperly end of story. My truck doesn't bounce around at all, and is without a doubt quicker everywhere than when I got it.

It was a drag 4 banger turbo car. Not a truck. Just comparing an actual car with power not an underpowered toyota. The car was faster on oem suspension no madder how you tuned the shocks.

But I bet your right. The trd pro suspension makes it faster in straight lines and turns compared to other trims. Sounds like a line a cars salesman would say.

I was mainly talking about my truck not really the TRD pro. Im sure the Pro is tuned to do what they intended it to do very well, but the comments I made about the speed of the truck were directed specifically at my truck. If your car is making that much power then nothing CLOSE to the OEM suspension is going to do... you would need modified control arms top and bottom with heims to take the torque, reservoirs on all 4 corners with lots of oil capacity, nitrogen charges to fill the shocks, and replace pretty much every bushing with polyurethane, or even nitrile if you can stand the noise. Then after all that, you could think about going with stiffer springs depending on how many G's your pulling on launches to dial out bumps and bottoming out. Thats essentially what Ive done to my truck only I don't have to worry about bottoming out on launches so I was able to tune the rear suspension primarily with controlling hop over bumps and getting the best traction at all times in mind
