So looking at that your at 2500 rpm at roughly 75 to 80 mph...
That’s about 500 rpm higher then I am all stock, so at that rpm your in a better power band and not lugging.
I understand that there are a lot of factors, driving style etc but what have you noticed as far as mpg is concerned..?
Thanks for taking the time to post this for me as I really appreciate it.!!!
Also I just noticed the reading on your dash is 74 mph.

The dash is in mph for the yanks, but the truck is in kph. I am currently in the US, so having mph on the dash is handy from time to time as well. I generally have it set to the mileage screen.

what I have notice so far is I am getting better mileage since I got the 5.29 gears. I believe this has to do with the AT using 6th gear more often. I found before it would switch between 5th and 6th all the time. Along with this, I have notice that the truck is better at getting into traffic when needed. It will never be quick, and it still has the same small delay in throttle response, but when it kicks in it goes. I will not get the throttle tune or what ever it is called, as I don’t feel it is truly needed. But each to their own. I will spend my money on some other silly thing I am a sure.

I don’t baby my vehicles, but I do not bag it either. It is still a daily driver for me. The plan is to keep this truck for a very long time.

I do not regret the re-gears one bit. I think Toyota should re-gear the AT to the same as the manual at a minimum. What would be better is to bring the diesel over to NA. I would sell this truck in a heart beat of America :) for a new taco diesel.

    It's complicated.
Sorry for the late reply; was out of town for a while. I'll dig up the receipt later this evening; but it was right around $3k, kit & installation.

The drive to get it done sucked because of the constant downshifting up through the mountains in Washington. The way back was better, but had to do many stops, and keep it under a certain speed--as part of the break-in procedure.

    Still... well worth it.

What was the turn around time? I saw in another thread that SDHQ in Gilbert AZ was quoting $3300 and a week to get the job done.

why do people that purchase a $35-40,000 truck and spend $1200 on gears, $2500 on wheels and tires, $1,000 on a lift, $1500 for an overland tent, $1600 for bumpers, thousands for sas and 4 link, $500 for sliders, etc., etc., etc., worry about fuel mileage?
lets say gas is $1 a gallon and your tank is 20 gallons. lets also say you drive 100 miles a day. now lets say a stock Tacoma is 20mpg and a lifted, large tire, re-gear gets 17mpg. over the course of 1 week, you would drive 700 miles. in the stock Tacoma that would be $35 in gas for 1 week. the lifted truck with all the bells, would be $41 in fuel. $6 a week? really people? smoke less or drink 1 less beer. oh and all the pricing above doesn't include labor if you don't know how to turn a wrench.
so, with a $40k truck and another 10-12k in parts and you are worried about and extra $300 a YEAR in fuel? lol

oh and another thing, why do people black out their license plate when they post pictures? are they afraid someone will find their address or figure out who they are? if so, do these same people drive around town with their tags covered, or are only internet photos susceptible to stealing data from a plate?

Im sure that anyone re-gearing is putting on larger tires, then your speedo, odo and computer (dte, mpg, etc.) will not be correct.
Unless someone is keeping notes and doing math to get the true mpg.
