So I am not sure why but I installed new 886's with 5100's and I am an inch off in ride height. What would cause this? I had 885 coils before and sat dead level? Please help!

I am familiar with taco lean but the is just crazy.

Sorry if I missed it, but one inch off as in drivers side is lower or higher?

What's your measurements? (center wheel cap to fender)

3" OME lift with 885 coils on nitrocharger 90000 shocks with 5mm trim packer on driver's side, TC UCAs, Rear OME Dakar leafs with nitrocharger shocks, All-pro U-bolt flip kit and 3* Toytec shims, extended rear brakelines, 16" Raceline Rockcrusher 887 wheels with 3.6" backspacking, BFG KM2 305/70/16 tires, Doug Thorley header, Doug Thorley catback exhaust, Volant CAI with ram air, Weathertech floor mats, Kicker 12" sub, Kenwood 500W RMS amp, Relentless Fab front and rear bumpers, 4.88 gears, custom flatbed with swing out tire carrier
Probably unlikely but make sure that the coils were the same length before you put them on. And hopefully they are both 886 - I believe the 885 and the 886 are the same length. The 886 are just a lot stiffer.

A local shop in town assembled the coil and strut but appeared accurate.

The coils are the right ones for sure and measure the same.

The drivers side measures 1" lower.

If the strut was set at .85 how could I ccomfirm that

Another thing to mention is that when we put in the passenger side strut and coil it went right in, but the driver side coil was a pain. We were thinking that it may have been assembled wrong or something.

Any chance my coil could be off?

No way is that normal I had 885's for less than 2 months and was dead level. I would accept 1/4 but a full inch. No way.

I would suggest " normal " taco lean is about 1/2" , which is why the 1/4" spacer fixes it .

So a full inch? What could add that much difference? I also have the 1/4 inch spacer just in case and so I I get left with the taco lean I can correct. But no way am I putting 4 of these on lol

I would suggest you drive it and get the coils to do some work .

Then re-measure your difference after everything has a chance to settle in.

Agreed. Even if you look at the garage door line and compare sides.... its bad.

So to go more in to detail.... We removed the strut and coil assembly, took it to my local tire shop and had them install 886's on the 5100's. When we picked them up they looked just fine. Got home and started to install the passenger side strut and coil assembly. Noticed it was not fitting in and was being a pain so we used the other shock coil assembly. Went in just fine. Then we took the shock that was being a pain and installed it on the drivers side.... this shock was even harder on this side but just barely lined up. In the lower control arm inside of the mount it sits kind of at a funny angle but we did not think any thing of it. Put the truck back together and BAAAM 1" off.
