True story, I upgraded to a nice new CarPlay stereo, took pretty much 6 hours, installed a backup camera, lots of wires, bracket, etc. At one point I nylon tied the camera cable to one of the rigid brakes lines and I am sure I touched the line just a little, no tools.

Stereo was awesome, went to go for a ride to try it out.Brake pedal went to the floor! Fluid pouring out of the rear line, looks to be the rigid line itself, its al corroded and it must have been just enough me touching it to break the corrosion and cause a leak.

This doesn't look easy to get too. Just wondering if this has happened to you, its a 2005 with 200k. The line below it doesn't seem corroded at all. this one is breaking apart right at the joint where it goes from the rigid to rubber.

I was hoping it was the rubber line burst since I think I could do that myself.

Sounds like the brake line rusted through. Where are you located?

And you have an 05, those were early production frames. They had rust problems to begin with

The frame has ben replaced but these are definitely original. Must have been a bad spot the lines around it look pretty good.

Look on the bright side. Good thing this happened in your driveway. Could have been much worse.

    Hmm . . . none as yet, that's why i'm here . . .
Taco brake lines are susceptible to inherent vibrations from an upgraded stereo, cant handle the extra bass.

The frame was replaced but the rear frame line blew because it’s original? The frames are suppose to come with new lines... someone didn’t install the new one by the sounds of it

Yes they should have replaced them. On my 2004 they replaced them along with the lower control arms.

Unrelated to Tacomas. Somebody was telling me that they couldn't get the rear brake lines replaced on a 04 F-250, because Ford no longer produced those rear brake lines. I asked them if they could get aftermarket brake lines? They said the shop told them no, they could not get brake lines for that truck.

I think they didn't want to work on that rusty Ford.

They *might* not be able to get pre made lines. But I even doubt that.

Regardless, all it means is you are correct, they didn't want to work a rust bucket.

OR they don't know how to build brake lines from tubing and fittings. It's not a skill everybody has experience doing.

My comment was related to a post about a Ford.

Ford discontinued everything it seems. I can’t even get rotors from for for a 97 f350. Lol

    You mean from Ford?

Because Rock Auto has them, meaning every parts house in town can get them.
