Installed a Wheelskin Tonight

really not a fan of it... although I dont like my wheel the way it is all shiny now from wear

 

I agree, mine even feels sticky at times. Never seen these wheelskins they are nice

 

Yes there are instructions. However they come with ony 1 thread. If you want to do a baseball stich you will need two threads. If you call up to order just ask for 2 pieces of thread to do a baseball stich and Wheelskins will include a second thread and needle at no additional charge.

Hey Tom your mod looks great and upgrades your non leather wrapped standard steering wheel very nicely.
Kudos for the patience to do that.
I had one in an older Toyota truck before the leather wheels were more available & didn't realize some models still do not come with a leather wrapped wheel.
Also I really like the black interior accents around the HVAC & air vents much better than the silver in mine.

I do not have a wheelskin but something like it. I put mine on so that my wheel would not be hot to the touch in the summer and not cold in the winter. More for the summer though. Also, to prevent myself from tearing the leather on the wheel. I have had the same one on two different Toyotas for the last six years.

I love mine. They feel good, and your hands are touching the wheel all the time you're driving.

I've also got an Intrepid with a "leather" wheel that *always* felt slippery. I have to drive that thing with a death grip on the wheel.

Put wheelskins on my new Taco within a week of getting it.

THX Judy. When I bought the Tacoma this was the only Tacoma that would qualify under the CFC program. I tried to get the SR5 option but none were avaliable. In hindsight I am glad I purchased a basic Tacoma because I am customizing it the way I want it. After over a year of ownership the truck still performs at the level that I feel it should.

What can I say I strive for perfection and that means taking my time and not being in a hurry.

 

I made mine. Not really hard, though I need to restitch it. I did a fairly crappy job the first time. FYI, don't try to install these in the dark.
