You will be pulling me over? Don’t threaten me. Don’t try to play attorney on the Internet because the vehicle code contains no such “blackout law”.

so as usual make the law abiding public pay for a few jackasses that ride around with Xmas tree lights blinding others, and still ticket drivers who have no covers but aren't blinding others based on an assumption that they may have had the lights on at some point, makes a lot of sense

I would think you know better than to argue on the internet. Also, every state has their laws and to impound a vehicle solely on the use of a light, (unless extreme circumstances exist) is a bit over the top, no?

I’m here to provide protection and prevent unsafe vehicles from killing or injuring others, if you’re driving around with over 150k candlepower of lights on your truck then you’re posing a danger to others on the highway. I’ll stop you and my first interaction is what dictates the entire encounter, you want to act like and asshole I’ll be more than happy to tow your truck from the scene and you can fight it out with the local judge whenever we eventually go to court.

I can bolt 20 lights on my truck. As long as they aren’t lit, they are not contributing any candle power. I have stock lights on my vehicle so feel free to stop me... that is if you are really a cop.
