Yes it does work. Just installed everything on my lunch break and tried it with my iphone 3g. Doesn't charge it however.

fair warning. the wire from the unit itself to the radio is really short and creates limited options for placement.

/edit: http://www.scosche.com/passport Just found this little guy. For 30 bucks I think its overpriced. Just wait for the chinese to make a knock off for it and it will be like 3 bucks on ebay.

Well I spent way too much, LOL but I just installed this:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280271653586

It works great and charges my iPod touch. (Keeps charging for 20 minutes after I leave the vehicle and shuts down for an extra boost). I can operate my iPod with my iPod or with the head unit and can also access playlists. I ran the wire to my center console where I'm making a foam holder with a slot to keep the iPod safe. Sounds great! (I have an 06 DC with factory radio). - Maybe 20-30 minutes to install?

Other than the remorse of seemingly overpaying, I'm really happy.

I installed it this past weekend in less than 30 minutes. this thing is awesome! I left the box on top of the head unit and ran the cable underneath the driver's side panel. works great with the iphone 3g. The "enable airplane mode" message is no big deal. Now I can't wait for the cheap scosche passport knockoffs to hopefully charge this thing. 50 bucks well spent

I can't believe the people at Circuit City. I stopped on Saturday to get the Metra adapter to connect my Zune to my stock stereo in my '08 Taco. I showed the sales guy the part number and he looked it up. He said they only had one in stock and it was locked up in the back. He said I would have to stop in another day when the manager was there. I called today to tell them to get it out and I would be in tomorrow. I give them the exact part number again and the guy said that they don't carry that part in stock and that it wouldn't work anyways. I am suspecting that he didn't even look it up. Its a bigger pain dealing with them than tearing the stereo apart!

I wonder why CC is struggling financially and having to close 155 stores??

CC has had a negative net worth for a while. They want to "be the best" but refuse to put any effort into it... I've dealt with them some in Richmond, VA where their HQ is...

They told me it wouldn't work too. I said b**** I'll buy it and return it if it doesn't. Needless to say it worked! I didn't really say b**** though.

I'm gonna stop in today anyway and see if they have it. If they don't, I'll just order it online.

Can you operate the iPod from your stock radio with this mod?

Well I finally installed the Metra adapter today. Installation was a breeze, even for someone as non-mechanically inclined as me. I'm having the same problem as some of the other people tho where the sound isn't very loud. I have the Zune turned all the way up and the stereo turned all the way up and its not very loud.

The Metra from Circuit City DOES NOT CHARGE my new Ipod Nano 4th Gen. Any ideas??? Is it a settings feature or do I need some other type of interface?

I haven't seen it tested w/ metras stuff but from what I've read about it, everyone is having success with it performing exactly what its supposed to. The metra charges my ipod but not iphone, so therefore i would assume the passport will work.
