Nice setup for sure. That's where I would like to relocate mine from under the hood.

Definitely need to listen to the comments on the fuse however as that needs to be at the battery end of a cable like that. I never understood why ARB (who seem pretty smart) stuck it on the operating end?

Also confirm you used at least 10 gauge or better wire for that run. If I recall correctly that fuse is a 40 Amp so, at roughly 15ft of wire, 8 gauge is preferred but 10 might be acceptable depending on how the amps are drawn. (http://assets.bluesea.com/files/resources/newsletter/images/DC_wire_selection_chartlg.jpg). This has been one of my issues with relocating to that spot.

Awesome thanks for the link! I used 10 gauge. I was thinking about just cutting the harness and turning it 180.

Does this mount allow the box to be sealed up to keep water out as well?

I just taped up the holes and seems. The mount instructions say you can add some RTV silicone around the border of the lid. i have not yet but I think i am before it starts to rain.

Nice work making a mount for the switch and attaching it to the compressor mount. That makes sooooooooooooo much more sense than having it in the cab! I'll be copying this!!

Great idea! Its just the kind of simple solution that I would miss and spend hours doing something more complicated and less effective.

I have a bed side cubby mount if anyone is interested, I'm in MD. I put a deck bed in so I can't use that area now.

This is some seriously good stuff.
The more I read and learn about this stuff the more I’m realizing I need more of this kinda material to keep from hurting myself or god-forbid, My Truck!
Right now I’m running some simple accessories but have plans for some more serious ones soon. (ARB Twin compressor, winch, So on...) been trying to do my research before hand so I do it right the first time. Other than trial and error where do you guys reference to make sure you’re running correct wiring gauge, relays, fuses, and other electrical must knows?

[IMG]For the door mount was the inner lip able to fit completely inside? Mine seems to be too long for their box. The spacers they provide dont fill the space completely When it’s on the truck

UPDATE: Finally got around to clean up the wiring under the hood. I redid the compressor wiring so the circuit is fused at the battery. It’s been on my list since I installed it, it just took so long out of pure laziness  I also took the time to install an RTMR and power trays mount so everything is in one spot.

I redid the harness since I had to get rid of the 40 amp fuse back by the compressor.
    8E32F322-EE96-4F57-8BA5-23F00706C2EB.jpg

Soldered and heat shrunk all the wires
    7911FD45-30A4-48D3-A447-16697F279C83.jpg

Then I taped all the wires together and put the whole harness into some heat shrink for extra protection
    DCD978B9-85BF-445A-A0EF-F5745174BFB7.jpg

Cut it down to length and ran it down through the frame
    1568A9DE-14C2-4CA4-9E19-84D02BE68388.jpg

Next thing was the RTMR and power trays mount. I followed this ( https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...n-rtmr-fuse-relay-block.399454/#post-11086088 ) tutorial on how to build a RTMR. Lots of great info on there.

But being lazy I bought one from TacomaPros mostly assembled
    A7D10066-86C5-40B7-9146-B024587FCF95.jpg
It comes with a mount but there wasn’t enough room to do what I wanted.

Didn’t take any pictures of the building process since there is a lot of info on the write up thread. I just used a hole saw to make the spot for the breaker since there wasn’t one.

Don’t mind the corrosion. Getting a new battery.

(Before) I know I know... it’s a mess! It worked, but wasn’t the right way to do things

    After

I have my front camera passing through the grommet that’s in the fire wall. So I decided to make a new hole so the wire doesn’t get pintched and it’s nice and tight

Made the new one below it

Installed a connector to be able to remove my switches if I ever needed to

5 relay triggers and one 12V source

Don’t have all the relays in use so I jumpered the 12V wire, so when I add more switches later on I can easily give 12V to the new switch

Everything works great and I have more piece of mind with all the accessories

Does anyone know the hole dimensions from the template for this Bed Mount (Expedition Essentials Toyota Tacoma Compressor Mount for Bedside (BCM))? I saw that the holes are 1/4", but I don't see the left to right spacing or the vertical spacing between holes.

I ordered mine, but want to go ahead and have it prepped and ready for when it arrives. I have a 2021, so I bought a cubby from an earlier model, and will be cutting that in as well so things look factory. I'm going to back up the composite bed with a thin piece of galvanized sheet metal for additional support, so I want to drill all of the holes in the sheet metal first to make it easy to drill/cut the bed.
