Yeah, I've read TONS of threads taking about CAI's - pros and cons - and lovers and haters. Personally, I like the sound, and if gives me a little more pep - maybe even a little more HP in higher RPMs (which I rarely ever get to), I'll be fine. I like it.

BTW, the install was very simple (about 30 steps) but the K&N instructions are WORTHLESS. I just watched a video and paused it every step or two. It was a good father / son project today.

I'm looking into getting one. I've seen some leave the cover off. Does this one get put back on or does it matter?

I don't guess it really matters. It's just a plastic cover w/ two small nuts holding it on. Somebody may know more than me about whether it has a purpose. Maybe it has something to with heat? Dunno...

OP - It's been a few months since you did your install. Is the MPG better?

Hey buddy, we just got back from a trip up through the mountains. Even with all the mountain driving, I'm getting about 1 1/2 mpg better mileage. I use the RoadTrip app (fantastic, btw!) on my iPhone to keep track of stuff. I expect with normal driving around town, it'll go up even more.
