So I have a scangauge and all, but miss the volt and oil pressure that is found on every other vehicle I have ever owned.

It was easy to wire up and install, just minor trimming on the handle. Its the lotec pillar btw. The gauges are Autometer sport comp II, white LED through the dial lighting.

I have the oil pressure sending wire ran and ready to plug in, just have to find a BSP 1" extension. As most of you know, the stock pressure warning gauge uses BSP threads, and most senders use NPT. So I had to find a very special adapter. I ended up finding one that has a male BSP that screws in stock sensor hole, accepts 2 1/8 NPT, and 1 BSP for the stock sensor. Just need that extension though to make it all fit nice. Summit has one, dunno if NAPA will but I doubt it. Oh well...

Anyways here are a few pictures. What do you think?

One thing for me, they are really bright. I have it wired into the dimmer, but being LED they dont really dim, they just eventually shut off. So Ive trying to decide what to do.

One option, autometer makes an LED dimmer than I can get to DIM them down some.

Option two, summit has some gauges as well that supposedly are led amber. Id like the color match I think, but that means Id have to buy more gauges and lose money on mine selling them on Ebay.

Option three, get the sport comp I version with regular lighting that I can plug in LED or put on a bulb color. Its not through the dial lighting though, its backlit..so I dunno

Not the best pics, but you can see the brightness levels. Thanks!

With those gauges in that spot, does defrost air still flow onto the driver's door window?

You can see it in this picture some, its up in the cubby above the drink holders. I see it perfect, and just dont put a drink in the drivers spot. Sorry passenger...

I dont know how much coming off the defrost actually hit the window, I know that some always came out of the vent though and still would fine. I'll find out that answer for sure in the morning though!

I too have been on the fence about getting seperate gauges. But I want Oil and water and electric and those pillar pods only hold 2 gauges. I found some pods at glowshift direct I like, that mount on the dash or hang from in front of my overhead console. Not sure yet. I do plan on using autometer gauges. And plan on using amber color too.

I just got my ScanGuage. It is a white backlight. In the picture yours looks like its the amber color matching the dash. How did you manage that?

    I thought so,

they are trying to work up a group buy over on XRU.

Cravenspeed is a vendor over there

I will pick one of these up definately. its a sweet setup.

combine it with an A-pillar ( which I already have) and you are good to go

its solid aluminum too, so it looks like a nice piece

That cravenspeed gauge pod is SICK ! I hate you guys !

Now I'm thinking 4 gauges is better than 3.
2 on the pillar and 2 on the steering column that would be sweet.

My68ur8trd post a link to that group buy, I might be in.

what model do you have then? i have sport comp II, but its white LED. when they are unlit, the face and trim match the factor perfect.

Like I said, I didnt want to use scancage for volts.

really nice setup. I have a 2011 double cab and I have side air bag curtains. what year is your taco? I was told I couldn't mess with the A-pillar location so I'm looking to place gauges elsewhere but your install really looks good. thanks

Kind of a zombie thread, but it occurred to me that if the gauges are still too bright, pull them apart and tint the glass (or plastic) front cover.
