Shit, we could weld, bolt, super glue, epoxy, cement and rivet them on.

Seriously though, recreating the strength of welded on sliders without drilling any holes in the frame isn't exactly trival. There are only so many places to stick bolts and they are all far from the applied load. Managing the flex of the huge mounting plate is a challenge.

I think that video proves they are plenty strong for the intended purpose. Unless you drive like a crazy person you shouldn't be hitting these with that much force. So bolt or weld is really just a choice with some pros and cons but no fatal flaws either way.

Well obviously I think we created the best option for bolt-ons. But hey, I’m bias I guess.

FWIW, these are the rock slider manufacturers who do and don't respond to emails with technical questions, so far:

Victory 4x4: No response in over a month

Demello: No response in over a week

CBI: No response in almost a week

MBRP: Multiple responses within a day

    SDHQ: Response within 24 hours

Never emailed Mobtown, but anytime there's a slider thread, the dude is on it.

    I agree with that statement.

I'd also dare to say that if you drilled in a couple more bolt holes, the bolt on system would be stronger than weld-on.
The forces applied to the frame are distributed across a larger area and a thicker effective cross section.

I like how in that video doing the drops, the strongest design was closest to yours, they welded theirs on, and the frame was damaged at the weld pads.
I also noticed that they did not have the gussets and extra bracing that yours have. :)

Glad to know my truck would survive things my spine won't.

Why hasn’t anyone metioned Pelfreybilt? Excellent customer service and quality. When I buy sliders they will be at the top of my list along with Mobtown and smellopoo. I could weld them on, but bolting them on will be just as good for the light off-roading I do.

I'm not even sure why there is a debate between bolt-on and weld-on sliders.

Mine are bolt on and they work, when and if they go to shit, I'll unbolt them and bolt on new...Mine are Mobtown so they will likely outlast the truck.

Somebody did a drive-by and made a snide remark about bolt-ons being cheap. It triggered those of us that chose to bolt ours on. We proceeded to discuss the pros and cons. No argument, just a discussion over beers - only without the beer.
