Yeah Zippers bottom top is how I do mine. There is a trick to it once you get it makes it easy. Ill try and explain it, if you have the window zipped in to get the bottom fold the plastic down then under the metal lip and in. So from this -- to this \. hope that helps.

I went with the bestop because I use mine for camping and like to have the windows.

I'll try this tomorrow and let you know how it goes. I know exactly what you mean with the tabs hooking in to the bottom of the window. My girlfriend got a jeep she got rid of when I bought the truck. She's a pro with the window tabs. :)

I had no luck installing mine last winter in the cold. The instructions warn against trying to install when it's below 70 degrees, but I was stubborn and tried anyways and I failed until I finally put the top most of the way up and put a heater in the bed to warm up the fabric.

Mine is either slightly defective or I someone messed up the installation cause I could barely get my windows to zip up on both ends even in the sun on 90 degree days. A couple months ago I just decided to cut the metal rails down about 0.5" each so that the whole thing would be stretched just a bit less. Now I can install and remove the windows even in the winter.

Good to know I'm not the only one having a hard time. You just cut the rails that sit on the bed sides then?

Yeah, I cut down the rails that clamp onto the bedsides, just a half-inch or so. It effectively shortens the length that the fabric is stretched so the window zipper can reach. It's still tough to get the windows on when it's cold outside, but since I can't change where the pivot point is for the arms that hold up the top, cutting the rail anymore than 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch would make things not line up properly. Also I would have liked to trim both ends of the rails, but since the rear ends have that lip built into them I couldn't cut them there.

I did it while it was snowing out just assemble it inside a d have two of your buddies come help and throw it on in a few mins. If its cold do the top j hooks first then the bottom then zip it.

Still haven't had a chance to try this yet. I'm thinking of getting a heater for the garage or something and letting it sit. I did notice that the bottoms of the rears could probably be pulled forward a little and that would help the zippers reach. The left one is zipped, but it can't be zipped all the way, the right one has about 1.5" before it can even come close to being zipped. If I can't figure a way to line it up I'll cut the rail a little bit.

For those of you that have had them for a while, how long do these things last? Do you guys fold them down or remove them when not in use? I just sold my ARE CX and was looking at getting a bestop.

I have never had a problem with snow on it. It holds up fine. As for the longevity I have had mine for two years and keep it on all the time. I took it down for a month or so but I love the look of it on my truck.

How long/fast has anyone driven with their windows out? I see a few guys wheel with their windows out but probably not at 70mph for 100miles. I've had my windows out a few times fo easy access to stuff like when working around the farm, and then left them out to head to work the next day and found myself really watching the rearview mirror to make sure it was holding up to the wind.

Is there ever gonna be a besttop sticky?
