Found a used UltraGauge V1.2 on ebay for $50 shipped so I picked it up. Did not like any of the mounting options so I whipped out the Dremel and made something my way. I mounted it right above the rear view mirror.

First used a machine screw to attach the UG mount to the metal bracket I made.

Next using the Dremel made a couple of slits into the map light housing so that the bracket sits flush.

Just to hide the wires drilled a slit into the plastic housing so that the housing would sit flush again.

Ran the wire through the housing itself to hide it all.

The final product... OBD cable was ran under the headliner and down the A pillar. However the cable is too short so I ordered a OBD2 extension and still waiting on the "ABS fix" cable. Until then I am digging it. Map lights still work just as before just have the UG handy.
Just something in case you don't like the available mounts this is an option.

Have you used it yet? I'm wondering how the visibility is way up there...does it tilt any? Still, very cool idea. Thanks for posting!

I can see it just fine... the metal will bend so I was able to bend it down slightly and its just about eye level. Can't wait for the extension cable and ABS fix cable to come in to finish it all off.
