If day time running lights turn off when you turn on headlights like my 2010 does dimming wire doesn't need to be hooked up.
Also I believe instruction said to tap into the head light wire so when headlights are on white switch back dims so its not blinding with switch backs on full power with headlights on.

I have a quick question, I just received my V3 Trition Switchbacks for my 2015 TRD Pro and was wondering if I need to use the resistors or are they somehow incorporated in the controller? And do I really need to tap into the headlight wire, what are the pro & cons of doing it, I really do not want to cut into the factory wiring. Or is there an easier way of doing it.
    Thx

I do not have resistors in the rear as they are the factory setup

I did as I was not sure if I needed them or not so I got them just in case. I have not installed anything yet as I just got them on Friday. So I will need them so they do not hyper-flash?

I was hoping it was incorporated into the controller

Resistors just plug and play so you can try it with out it. If you have hyper flash then just plug it in. Check #14 in this thread

Okay my friend has a 2011 which does not have the four wire DTRLs it has three and I was told to t tap the red adapter wire into the positive wire of the parking light circuit. the thing I dont know is which color wire is the positive wire and which is the parking break circuit... is it the same circuit as the DTRLs and which wire is the positive wire?

You got the older version ? If so I don't know but if you got the newer version plug and play . New version white wire tapped into harness connecting to headlite bulb. Taps into low beam so when headlites on switch backs dim from about 600lm to 50lm.Mine 2010 has three wires to headlite.Got pics of your vleds . Yours has red wire for adapter and taps into parking lite circuit so yours might be different. pics the one I got White wire for dimming

Thats the V3 that he has but thats not the adapter that the tech guy told me I needed to install. the one that he has has a red wire that has no terminal end just like the white one. that red wire is supposed to be t-tapped into the parking break circuit's positive wire. I just don't know which is the parking break circuit. is it the same circuit that the dtrls are already on? and what color is the positive wire? sorry I'm not a wrencher and rely on this forum for a lot of shit...

Sorry but don't know what wire is for parking brake circuit. Or do you mean parking light circuit. If its parking light circuit you should be able to tap into one the parking light positive I would think.
Also the wire is to dim switch backs? What did they say purpose of adapter was for.
Controler suppose to take care of every thing .Resistor is for hyper flash and white wire on mine suppose to dim leds when lights are turned on .But only if drl on with headlights and only if you want it to dim with head
lights on.. Mine not on when headlights on so didn't hook up white wire.
Did you try hooking up every thing up with out red wire hooked up?

oh yeah parking light circuit. yeah I tried hooking it up for him without the adapter and it doesn't even go on. that's why i called tech support and they told me I had to get the adapter that I got. they said red wire to positive wire on parking light circuit. is that on the same circuit that the drl's are hooked up to? do you know what color the positive wire is?

Forgot to mention mine is amber /amber not amber /white switch back. Maybe its different because of that? Will look at other threads because now curious to see whats up with that. Didnt see anyone mentioning a red wire with switchbacks though. Hope you fiqa it out .

My vleds right blinker on my 15 Tacoma quit flashing. Checked the electrical plugs, ok. Took the bulb and tried on the left side and it worked fine! This is the switchback amber to white kit. It blinks on the dash as if a bulb is burned out, real fast. Parking light seems to be ok as it burns white but doesn't switch to amber and flash. Any ideas? I'm thinking maybe the controller took a crap?

Yes, I did. The LEDS V3 kits are no longer available and I now have to convert to V6 kit. They said its a plug n play. Havent tried yet.
