Gas is $2.30 a gal around here, and I bought the truck expecting it will stay relatively low for 10 more years. Enjoy the ride.

Gas is now $2.10 a gal around here....

Heh....we're at the 180-190 range in OKC, if you don't mind that ethanol crap.

    I paid 220ish for the normal 87.

That is my understanding too. Cold air is denser so you need more fuel to keep the same stoichiometric ratio. The computer automatic adds fuel to compensate.

I drive like my grandparents and I get 15 mpg....

CAI don't do ish. If your boosted you will see improvements with being able to move larger volumes of air improving power, but you will never see any mpg improvements with bolt ons, but a reduction, you might! The stock airbox is probably the most efficient intake for these trucks

It does nothing on our otherwise stock trucks. Not worth the money. Anything you do in increasing HP will cause loss in mpg. CAI just won't help you in any way

All test results that I have read for after market filters and covers show no mpg improvements. You just added weight with the cover.

I wouldn't mess with the intake side of things unless youre boosted. An intake on a stock car almost always causes issues.

Really? How many thousands of n/a cars and trucks have aftermarket intakes without any issues? Sorry man, that's bad statement. The only times an intake has caused an issue was due to user error. Not plugging in the MAF harness, loose connections, etc.
