Sounds like my 2009 jbl – xm inside the head unit and the factory and several 3rd party ipod adapters are a no-go.

Wiring diagrams seem straightforward enough assuming the parts can be obtained. Thanks to everyone for all the work so far!

From what I've gathered, the Toyota iPod adapter won't work either. Thats why I'm interested in this idea. As I'm pretty sure the JBL system is the same. But the headunit should be an easy swap since most of that stuff already goes through it (bluetooth).

I've posted this in another thread, but since this one is so active, and I'm trying for as much exposure as possible, please excuse me -

I'm looking for the touch screen head unit for the 2013 (and apparently, 2012) Taco...(86140-04080); mine has a cracked touchscreen. PM me if you have changed yours out and want to get rid of it.

    Thanks.

GOT ONE - Thanks, all who responded!

I've got a 2011 w/ JBL and have converted to the 2013 entune w/ nav. The only thing that isn't working right now is the microphone. I think this is because of pin 6 on R15. Has anyone who has done this figured out what to splice into?

    Edit:
Pin 6 for R15 can pull off of Pin 19 (mic voice signal) from the same harness. Hooked mine up and everything is now functional.

    Benright,

I just installed a 2012 into my 2010 w/JBL. My nav isn't working though. Did you install a new antenna or just use the Sat radio antenna? Also, did you install the USB port yet?

I don't think the satelite antenna fits for the nav. I bought an aftermarket antenna but it sucks:it's not sensitive enough. I'm gonna try to pick up a used OEM antenna.

I don't plan on doing the USB right now because I don't know where to find parts for it.

    EDIT:
I was wrong about the aftermarket antenna, it works fine. I didn't have the vehicle speed signal wire connected. Without that the GPS will not work correctly. The after market ($20) antenna from ebay works just as good as the OEM ($90) toyota antenna.
If you're converting a JBL system and are searching for the vehicle speed signal wire, you can find it near the fuse box. It's a purple and white wire in pin #5 of the black wiring harness (There is only one black harness down there). If someone needs pictures let me know.

    Galveznano,
With the way mine is wired I don't think a picture will help. I used the write up done by dibble (link is below) for the wiring. However he left out what to do with Pin 6 from the wiring harness (R15).

I spliced into the wire from Pin 19 (mic voice signal) on the same harness and connected it to pin 6. Now the microphone works. If you familiarize yourself with the dibble's write up I think this should make sense. If not let me know and I can take a picture of it.

So, I have the Sat antenna plugged in and it works for Satellite radio, but the nav does not work. What aftermarket antenna did you use and how did you plug it into the head unit?

I think you misunderstood me. The navigation antenna plugs into a different slot (in the bottom left if you're looking at the back of the unit). You can buy the antennas on eBay.

I got mine from user Nat2012. He seems to have a quite a few of them. He sent me a 2013 entune w/ nav for $300. It was brand new/never used, sat radio works too.

I'm no detective but I noticed he lives in San Antonio; Toyota has a plant that assembles tacos/tundras in San Antonio. Come to your own conclusions...

Can someone explain to me how to get the bluetooth mic working.

Basically I have top buy a R15 harness and wire it.....its the wiring part I'm a little lost. Do I have to wire all those pins to get the bluetooth calling/microphone to work....

note- i don't have steering controls for the bluetooth, so I have no wiring for that.....

Rod did you get the USB to work on the 2013 touchscreen?
I only ask cuz I didn't see an update. It looks like your picture here could be labeled incorrectly. http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/au...012-stock-radio-pre-2012-a-7.html#post6019233
Are you sure that unit has satellite? I believe that port is the USB port. I think the adapter that goes with it is this part PT546-00120-US I found it here. http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/1...5-new-toyota-panasonic-86120-0r130-radio.html
I don't mean to question but from what I have seen all the satellite ports are a blue connector and slightly dif. I am going to go to the dealer and see if I can pick up the part plus I want to see what is on the other side for a connector. Hopefully something to connect to 86190-0C020
    Just a thought :notsure:

I ordered that same part like 5 weeks ago an nothing.
I did label it wrong. It was a quick labeling months ago without any short of diagram showin me what it was. I too think the gray plug is the usb
