WOW, seems like a job I do not want to accomplish. I do want to do off road driving but not heavy duty. I will check out a shop price to install and go from there. I did buy a set of spring compression tools but having second thoughts. Thinking of the Rancho RS5000X set of 4 (four) . Thanks guys

This is an old thread, but still relevant.

I rented spring compressors from a local auto parts store and it took very little effort to change them out. And it was free.

I wouldn't hesitate to do it again with the proper tools.

Agreed, old thread or not it is definitely still relevant.

I did mine without the spring compressors and actually couldn't feel more safer about it.

I did mine with stock springs, but can't vouch for "heavier" springs. In that case though, I would trust doing it with this method (i.e. without spring compressors) even more so!!!

Sorry to bring back an old thread but I did this yesterday and was wondering if it’s possible to pass the strut shaft too far up past the mount or is it limited on how far it will go? I couldn’t really tell when I did it so I compressed it to the point where all of the threaded section of the strut shaft came out above the mount.

I've got some 5100s with OME 885s already assembled and am looking to install this weekend. Since this will lift the front end a couple inches will the cam alignment be the same when I put it all back together or will it be significantly off from the markings I make because of the lift? I really don't want to disassemble everything from the UCA to do this job. Thanks in advance!
