hey all, I picked up a used bedslide that was installed in an S-10. The bedslide has two pins that would slide horizontally into two drilled holes near the cab and one bolt holding it on the floor near the tailgate. The Tacoma does not have a steel box so would this still be a safe method of installation? has anyone here installed it this way? I really don't want to bolt it to the floor of the bed other than the one near the tailgate because I would need to remove it frequently. I wouldn't be carrying anything heavy either so bolting it to the floor is overkill.

hey, yes, I found a similar bedslide used, out of an S10. it was the SR10 I think model bedslide. I did not use the horizontal pins the mounted into the backwall of the cab area, I removed those. My bedslide had 2 crossmembers in the frame / supports, with 2 holes each. I used these to mount to my bed. I contacted bedslide and bought their install kit, basically 4 rivnuts and bolts, and a rivnut setting tool. 10 bucks or so I think. I did drill my bed to do this. it was solid, fully extended with weight, no issues at all. I have since sold off the bedslide and have a bedmat back there now, and a tonno.
