Yes but I have a front locker and basically leave abs off all the time. But it’s all functional.

tundra discs are nice. Definitely more braking power, but I have a softer pedal because I think I got some air in the abs module. Heard many reviews that a proper bleed from a good dealer that will actually activate the abs pump can alleviate the “soft” pedal easily.

Currie will do a custom 9”, Schneider axles or something like that will do them as well. Or hit up DMZ, JD fab, or Dirt King or something and see who they use for custom axles.

Stock is what 68-69”. If I recall correctly it is 5-6” over stock. Can try to get an actual measurement tomorrow. But with the 3.5” LT kit up front, matching wheels and no wheel spacers all around, I’m like 1” wider up front. I think it’s supposed to be 72” wms to wms

About a year ago I had a 1st gen Tundra axle and a 2nd gen Tacoma axle for my prerunner as replacements. For over a decade at this point everyone always said that 1st gen Tundra axles are 66.5" wide and 2nd gen Tacoma axles are 65". I put them next to each other and measured from outer drum to outer drum and was in between 66" and 66 1/4" for each. I referenced it with my 2nd gen axle that was still on my truck and it checked out. No one's put up pictures of a tape landing exactly at 65 - I think @snowsk8air2 might have ended up at 65.5 or something like that and that seems believable since I was measuring my own and could have had a bit of play on the end of my tape measure when I was pulling it along the axle. It's tough to say since I got rid of both and it's been awhile. That seems like a good width for your rear though, on a 3.5 kit.

Could do a trail gear 9 housing for $2600 and put a piece of black tape over the dash to hide all the abs lights :D

You can literally buy the complete kit from trail gear and use unit bearings. Be everything minus a third. Or buy a bare housing and use the solid axle industry kit to use a spindle and bearings and hubs and then source a third and brakes and shafts etc.

Plenty of information on the webs about building a 609 rear axle. My build has a pretty good list and pictures of building one using the solid axle industry kit

But here’s the trail gear axle with ends welded on shafts. Just needs brakes and a third.

    https://trail-gear.com/axles/rock-a...-assault-9-rear-axle-housing-with-shafts.html

or a roller and you weld the ends on
    https://trail-gear.com/axles/rock-assault-9/rock-assault-9-rear-roller-kit.html

I used the solid axle industry kit because I can buy everything from an auto parts store. Besides the inner shafts. And trail gear has one that will work with my short side. And the parts from my front axle interchange with the rear.

I’ll never understand why anyone would use a unit bearing

Unless your buying the spidertrax ones that rebuildable (I think they push 1k each) or using the stock bolt pattern of a unit bearing, makes no sense to me.

I was looking at it more from the perspective of how much stronger a spindle snout is than a unit bearing

That too. Basic maintenance keeps the hub and bearings good. Maintenance on a unit bearing is replace it lol. All the crawler guys swear by unit bearings but I’ll keep my spindle and hubs
