Also different worlds east coast vs west. Here a 4x4 even without locker and winch will go all places, farther, gentler, than a 2wd any day.

Yeah here in the west my off-roading is mostly dry desert and mountain terrain.

You reply to my original comment for some reason kind of like a Douche knuckle (when I had said can go SOME places not MORE) :

Then you announce that you thought that I was saying a 2wd truck with a winch and locker would go more places than a 4x4 truck with a winch and a locker??? uh-huh

But then your next comment makes no sense at all, you finally admit that a 2wd truck with winch/locker "might" go some places a 4x4 can't, but that the 4x4 would do it more gracefully? Do what more gracefully, drive around the obstacle? :

Than you try and validate your original statements by saying that a 4x4 will go anywhere in the east coast but not in the west coast?

An obstacle is an obstacle, be it; sand, mud, snow, rocks, inclines, ruts, what have you... we have them all here in the west as you do in the east. :

Back to my original comment, a 4x4 without a locker and winch will not go all places a 2wd with a winch and a locker (and mud terrains) as original comment stated.

    You:
    First :cool story bro
    Than :well maybe
Last: actually your still wrong, cause east coast.

EDIT: and do you really think a 4x4 without a winch and locker will go all places in the east? c'mon

    Very important things.

You guys probably wouldn't be arguing if the example wasn't so bad. Add a winch to anything and the comparison becomes apples to oranges. Most things being equal, 4wd > 2wd on both coasts.

If it were me I would buy the whole rear out of a truck with a factory e locker. Put a toggle switch on the dash and go. Might cost ya a grand but you could do the whole job yourself.

I could put a winch on a civic and drag it places a stock 4x4 can't go.

    You know what that proves?

Nothing, except that you made a mistake when you bought a 2wd truck for off-road use. A winch on a 2wd is a bandaid on a bigger problem.

    This forum sometimes.

I think I asked a similar question a while back in a thread and everyone told me that pulling a rear end that already had an e-locker and swapping it yourself was the cheapest route.
