Hi all, ive got a question about installing after market uca's on my 97.
I have a 4" pro comp diff drop lift and 3"Body. I recently installed some icon 2.0 coilovers and was going to put on some aftermarket uca's but the top of my spindle has this grenade looking thing with a shaft pointed up to connect to my stock uca's with the hole and the new uca's has a shaft facing down. My question is how do I get around that? Is there a longer spindle to do away with the the grenade? Any help would be greatly appriciated.

OEM ball joints were in the top of the spindle / upright. That grenade looking thing is what the drop bracket lift you have uses to extend the length of the spindle into the OEM uca which is made to receive the OEM upper ball joint. Aftermarket uca’s reverse this and use a ball joint or uniball with a bolt going down through / from the upper arm and down into the top of the spindle with a slug that presses into the spindle where the OEM ball joint was.

Basically you need an OEM style uca to keep the drop bracket lift if you don’t want to make a one off system to make the spindle extension and aftermarket control arms jive.
