    Hey guys,

I'm self-installing a Billstein 5100 kit from @HeadStrong Off-Road (shoutout to Marie for the amazing customer service, she got my ordered dialed in for my needs), and am wondering if anyone has any tips, tricks, details that I should know of before I start the process?

Install seems straight forward, but just want to make sure I'm crossing my T's and dotting my I's to ensure it's done safely.

Picked up a torque wrench last week to ensure everything is torqued to spec.

    Thanks!

Awesome. Good luck. You’ll love the 5100’s. Great lift IMO. Post pics when completed. I also have a long bed. Going to look great. What are you doing in the rear for lift?

6 ton jack stands. 2-3 ton are a bit short. Doing leaf springs, get a ratchet strap to pull axle back under the springs.

Thanks for the heads up on the jack stands, didn’t even think about that!

Not doing leaf springs yet and will have to deal with a little bit of bro lean while @HeadStrong Off-Road gets their AAL pack back in.

Will do, thanks! I’m doing the Headstrong AAL pack but until they get it back in stock, I’ll have to deal with some bro lean. Hopefully not too much.

Do each step on both sides in sequence.
    Up on jackstands.
Swaybar(get it up out of the way)
    Brake line brackets.
    Upper ball joint.
Lower strut mount bolt on LCA
    Tophat studs.
    Remove coilover.

    Reverse the order for reassembly

Thanks for the advice! Ended up supporting a buddy's shop in San Juan Capistrano, CA- Baja HQ.

Highly recommend them, super friendly and got it right!

Probably will do the @HeadStrong Off-Road leaf springs myself whenever they're back in stock. Still need about 1/2" to an 1" in the back especially with the shell on.

The no compressor version is so much easier if you aren’t changing springs and top hats. Took 1.5 hours on the first side while figuring it out and 45 minutes on the other.

Agree if your purchasing from a supplier that gives you the option of pre assembly...def do that. Money well spent IMHO

Thanks! Just did 5100’s all around with OME 888 coils on the front. No AAL yet; my snugtop Rebel is in the garage and I’m kind of afraid to put it on with out the AAL. Sits nice now, but would ride noticeably nose high for sure with the Rebel on.

Didn’t go 285 because if the stars align (which happens more often with 275) you won’t have to cut much or CMC.

Also, I personally feel with 285’s, the juice really isn’t worth the squeeze unless you’re crawling/ball out on your setup. The difference between 275/70 and 285/70 is minor and it’s the difference between CMC and having to get new UCA’s.

275 was the perfect balance of big, utility, and looks. Little more expensive though.
