Has anyone successfully installed a Decked bed/platform system on a 2001 Toyota Tacoma?
    https://decked.com/products/decked-toyota-tacoma?variant=47245293651

They technically only make them for 2005 models and newer but I was told by a Decked rep that they had heard of people installing them on 1st gen Tacomas but they couldnt legally tell me how. They said there was stuff on fourms but I haven't been able to find any info. Thanks for any help!

you can look into ARB drawer or have someone custom make them.

A company here in SoCal, Solid works - They currently have 1st gen long bed coming in for some work from the last email I got from them - https://solid-wood-worx.myshopify.com/

Hey thanks a ton for these recommendations - but i guess just to be clear I was more looking for someone who had installed the decked system on their 1st gen Tacoma to get pointers on any mods or things they had to do. Either way, appreciate it!

I haven't seen anyone post about it on this forum.

I don't think it would be that hard, but you'd most likely have to modify the top deck pieces. And also figure out how to mount it down since we don't have bolts that go through the bed.

Thanks for the thoughts nzbrock - it doesn't look like you need to necessarily modify the deck pieces but yeah would definitely need to bolt it into the metal bed. I was just thinking of mounting it to the sides of the metal bed same as the instructions say (and possibly trying to use some type of sealant when bolting to the metal) but the 1st gen does have the slightly raised metal panels where you'd mount the brackets cabside and tailgate side. Here's the instructions if you want to take a gander and see if you have any ideas. Thanks!

I was wondering if you ever got any specific feedback on this anywhere? I have an 04 Tacoma that I'm very interested in a Decked system for but would love to see some specifics on the install before I spend the money

I have seen a few 1st generation Tacomas with a custom built deck system on the Expedition Portal website. The forum members over there have a lot of details about their set up since they travel & sleep in their truck beds.

Taking a shot in the dark in case anyone still watches this. Just wondering if there was anyone who actually modified a "Decked" system to fit in a 1st gen Taco? And if so what model Decked kit did you start with?
