    This one has blue LED's:

However, it doesn't have the lighter socket pass-through wiring. To do what you want to do, you would have to buy both ($15.99 + $22.99). Starts adding up.

Has anybody found one with a USB-C plug instead of the standard USB-A? I dont have Qualcomm charging, it's USB-C power delivery (PD) which doesnt work over USB-A so you get slower charging rates.

Thanks for the help, I had to use both of these posts with a combination of a lot of thought to get that damn air bag panel off. This was what I was missing:

    Steps 4 here : https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...e-3rd-gen-tacoma.614743/page-49#post-23621423

And Pyrotech’s post 23 here has some pics, but he didn't go into detail about these panel tabs: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/the-some-day-build-and-trip-log.599494/page-2#post-21475950

The three hidden tabs are a bitch to release. I used a 1/8" wide flat screwdriver and really shoved it in where the tabs are to get them to release. My worst fear was breaking one and having to hear that plastic rattle forever.

these pics are from my 2018 Tacoma SR5

And here is our little friend that we have to find to finally pull the glove box out:

Air bag panel in floorboard. I didn't bother to disconnect it.

Here is the right 12v socket connector. The hot is the purple wire.

    IMG_1823.jpg

Made up a 3 position switch, one leg tapped at the 12v socket (switched)

    IMG_1827.jpg

and the other leg tapped at the brake controller connector, driver's side kick panel (always hot).

Finished look. Hats off to Toyota for giving us blanks in these Gen3s:

    IMG_1826.jpg

I mounted the switch inside the glove box at the top left:

Here is the 2-socket outlet on the bench showing current draw. You can see where you can clip the LED leads if you don't want them on. I like them because if I leave the switch to BATT ON, then I can recognize this when I remove the key from the ignition and the lights are still on (and yes those are the HF free meters, LOL):

any reason you decided not to use a high output charger just plugged into the lighter socket?

Because ....those blanks... they were just asking to be filled! :) This has a clean look, leaves the outlet open for other stuff, and I wanted to tear into the dash anyway to install the switch to allow non-switched power. I have been pissed off too much in the past when my phone died and I was out somewhere and wanted to leave it in the car to get charged, needed to charge a phone battery pack, etc.

copy that, I dont blame you for filling the blank! Especially if you also have plans for the lighter socket, win win!

As long as we're filling the blank, how about one of these, that has a charging port and a voltmeter?

    https://www.amazon.com/Cllena-Toyot...ta+Tacoma+voltmeter+USB&qid=1613443075&sr=8-5

And if you don't want the voltmeter and blue light on all the time, you can wire one of these switches next to it (provided you have enough blank spaces):

I like the idea of removing the fast charger button, for me it is also a waste of space. The area where the phone should sit, is great for holding stuff, like glasses and since Car Play is a wire hookup, it will never get used by me.
I have plans to move the USB plug that hooks up Car Play to the area just in front of the emergency brake handle, since I set my phone right there. My original plan was to put a dual in that spot, but now I will re-look at this area and what I could use those spaces for.
