I need to install a pre hung exterior door into a block house. The current door is an interior door hung into the old (1967) door jamb. Question is, do I remove all of the door jamb and take the door all the way down to the block then reinstall pressure treated door jambs with a new pre-hung exterior door? This is my first door project and I am a pretty handy guy but this seems like I may or may not have bitten off more than I can chew.

Quite the pickle you are in. I'm afraid I'm not much use to you. Unless of course you ask me if your tires will rub with 285/75/17s with out trimming.

    I found this:

Look at post #3, sounds reasonable. Being from Florida, I know what you are dealing with with CBS construction, but I've since moved to Washington and things are stick-built out here. As long as you paint the jambs with exterior grade stuff, you don't need pressure treated (I think) but you do need to worry about moisture in the blocks transferring over, so that's why I think the peel-and-stick flashing is a good idea.
