Installing Focals in rear door

When I had my last truck I had focals put in it that I removed and put in the Tacoma. They sound great but now I want to add them to the rear doors also.

I had car toys install the fronts but am considering doing the rears myself. Car toys quoted me $399 for the install $199 for the speakers. This included dynamat and a warranty.

If I buy from crutchfield or car toys is the install pretty much plug and play?

I dont have a 2012 model but if Crutchfield says theyll fit they should and youll want to get the wire harness for you're crossover basically so you retain the factory speaker plug. Its just in case you go back to stock. Good choice on focal I have two sets running on 1200 watts turned way down on gain and Ive cranked it once leaving me with tinnitus for three months!!!lol pretty dumb of me.

 

Watch a few install videos on youtube and decide whether its a task you want to take on.

Are the speakers going to be powered by the stereo or an amplifier?

 

Going to recommend 6.5" coaxial s for the rears so you have tweeter placement.

 

Focals are awesome.
I have had K2 Power components before.
Vehicle was totalled.
Tow company would not allow me to remove the undamaged speakers.
I will never forget the sound.
You can tell what brand of drumsticks were used.
LOL.

Yah buddy! I was afraid to buy another expensive system because usually once my truck is perfect something happens, but thats life! Came out of buffalo wild wings one night and three dudes were trying to slim jim my door and I scared the fear of God into these scumbags. Its all about pager alarms!! I aint letting these focals go!, youre right focals are so clear you might hear a fart in the baground of a song.
