    o god idk whats goin on in there but to be honest i was coming back form camping trip and we re in this small farming town and a 1st gen passed me with a gooseneck hitch in the bed and no tailgate ....so idk maybe it can be done :notsure: just doesn't seem safe haha

    Ok, so I did what you all told me to do and I got it working. I have some square steel tubing lying around so I welded one standing straight up off my differential housing then I took two more pieces and made a 45 degree angle and welded it to the part of the differential closer to the tires. so it's a triangle with a center supporting beam. I figured it would be pretty tough then since triangles are typically one of the most geometrically sturdy structures. Oh, and I used my angle grinder to to cut some of the composite bed out of the way in order to make room for the new tubing. I welded a piece of flat steel ontop of that and mounted the hitch to it.
