I've got 6000k in my eagle eyes and really with I would have went with the 5000k for more visiblity... but they sure do look nice with that blue tint.

Although, I really would have wished that I wouldn't have wasted the money on them and just went with the retro's in the first place. I'll be installing them this week some time and I'll post up some before and after pics to prove the quality of the D2S's vs the eagle eyes.

Has anybody baked these kind of headlights and changed out the LED bulbs in the halos with brighter LEDs? I want to do that with mine but I wanna see what other people's experiences with doing that were. Plus can you do retrofits with these headlights?

The headlight lens is not going to cause scatter. It will refract light, but that will be uniform and any headlight is going to do the same thing. The only way to avoid this refraction is to run the headlight without the protective lens but that is not necessary because the refraction isn't what causes the lights to blind other drivers

The second beam would be a shot of the low beam... I cannot take credit for these photos though. They were pulled from Electronman's thread. Mine look just like it though. I just don't have my good camera here to take the shots

Even if the driveway is wet and reflecting light, which I am not convinced is the case, the glare above the cutoff is way too uniform to be from and reflection off the ground.

And the foreground is terrible compared to what you get from an HID projector.

However, those do look better than a factory headlight with an HID which is all glare and no cutoff

Though this thread has turned into Retrofit talk... I actually found out the bulbs are H3 and not H7 after finally looking.. Just for future reference

so i read this whole thread and was wondering if all 0f the info is the same for a first gen? Sounds like retro would be the only way to go. I don't want to tear up my oem headlights, so can i just buy the cheapest replacement headlight on ebay and do the retro on them? thanks for the help in advance. I want the light output more than the looks of hid's. They look great but thats not my main concern. i have 04 doub cab

I had the same decision and bought a set of OEM headlights off of another member.

I find it hard to believe that you have a fog light bulb for a low beam in gen 2 ccfl halo headlights. Are you talking about these headlights with halogen bulbs?

Here is a pic of an H3 bulb.....(just like I have in my Mazda P5 oem fogs)

Does anyone know where I could get some Headlight Socket Covers for these lights? I made a rookie mistake and forgot to put them back on after taking them off to put in the HIDs, and they are gone now of course...
