What up peeps. So I finally pulled the trigger on some Kings. I had to piece the whole setup together to get the best deal. Here is what I ordered:

Fronts w/ adjusters 600lbs: 25001-119A Standard (IG: OverlandMarket)
Rears: non-adjusters: 25001-121- Extended Travel (Down South Motorsports)
    UCAs: Camburg uni-ball: 310036

I was going to originally order Ext fronts with non-adjusters but for the same price, I found some standard with adjusters on IG. Those are usually like $300 more expensive so I couldn't pass that up.

I have a couple questions that I hope you guys can help me on.

    1. Running a mix of standard (fronts) and ext (Rears) isn't an issue right? My understanding is that you only get about an extra inch with EXT and that you can convert standards into EXT.

    2. As on now, I don't plan on getting any extra armor, Campershell, RTT or anything that will add extra weight so an add a leaf isn't necessary right?

    3. Are extended brake lines necessary with my planned setup?

    4. I keep hearing about different, excuse me if I'm not using the right term, drop kit/spacer kits to drop things like the differential or CVs. Any recommendation on which to get if any? I just want to truck to set level and not looking to max it out.

Thanks in advance! I went through this 85+ thread and found some good info but I wanted to reach of to the TW family directly.

    I have the same shocks.
Ext isn’t going to effect you.
The front end will sit a little higher than rear with your new shocks. You will have to look into lifting rear end a little if you want level. Whether that be with aal or spacer blocks.
You won’t need extended brake lines with the shock change alone. From what your saying your not lifting high enough for extended lines. You can always add lines if you go higher.
You have nothing to worry about for now with what your doing.
You may end up with drive shaft vibrating if you lift. You will have to deal with that later
Be sure to take measurements from center of wheels to fender flare to know where you start and where your going.

How did you deal with that vibration?

Carrier Bearing drop or 3* shims works well and are remarkably cheap. Given that you aren't lifting the rear any, you shouldn't have issues. For what it's worth, I have no vibes after throwing kings and heavy dakars on.

With what your doing you might not get any. I’m still working on mine
That’s a whole new can of worms.

You say the front end will sit higher with my application without leafs upgrade or block, is that with pretty much no preload?

For alignment, better to take it to a shop that works on off-road vehicles or does it really matter?

The shocks come with about a 3/4 thread showing above lock ring preload from King. I didn't touch my preload.
I did install Deaver U402 Expedition II leaf springs which gave me about 2 1X2" lift in rear. Front lift was right at 2"
Just changing the shocks won't give you any problems.
I took mine to a 4 wheels shop to do alignment. If you could find a good shop around you it might be worth a little money to get a PRO to install for you. I love doing things myself but looking back I could have saved a lot of time and probably money getting someone who does this day in and day out to do it for me.

The Big O stores in Utah are really good with offroad vehicles. Most of the techs are on our local Toyota FB pages. I'd say it doesn't matter as long as you have a shop with good techs.

The front is super easy to do. Like you could EASILY do them in 2 hours. 1.5 for 1 side, like 20 mins for the other. I thought the back was a little trickier, but still quite easy.

If just putting in the shocks front and rear is a pretty simple task.

I didn't know the rear shocks had an extended version? Aren't they all the same part #25001-121? If so I might be running the regular version with medium dakar leaf pack.

Edit: Just read the EXT version only give .75" more travel. I don't think that'll be an issue for me I hope.

swapping your control arms out is going to be the hardest part of the job.

That's what I hear because of the metal bending you have to do.
