Hey guys, I bought some KYB gas a just struts to replace my front ones.
    I have a 07 regular cab non-4x4 and 4 cyl

When I took my new front kyb monotube struts my mechanic said the old coil springs wouldn't fit on there, also there is no where to attach the brake line.
Do I not need coil springs anymore?
I have no clue what do do now, I would like to keep these nice shocks as I got em for a good price but what else would i need to buy?

    thanks in advance

Well, you obviously didn't get struts. You got shocks, like for vehicles with NON-COILOVER suspension. You definitely need springs.

Also, your brake line should hook up to your BRAKES, not your shocks.

Some pictures of your new shocks would help us out, as well as a couple pics of what I'd currently on your truck.

I finally found a number to call KYB, the monotubes are for the pre-runner. I thought I could upgrade my front struts to gas-adjust monotubes because they were listed under front struts for my vehicle at rockauto. im not saying the brake line hooks into my shocks but there is a spot on the strut that holds the brake line
I ended up buying these, you see how it has a spot for the brake line?

That doesn't seem right. If they were designed for our Tacoma's, there wouldn't be a brake line holder there. I don't think they will work, but I'll let someone else chime in who is more knowledgeable
