The gray wire you have in your second pic I believe is the one you need. It connects to a yellow RCA wire that should have been with your kit (one end is RCA the other is a connector that should connect to your gray wire.

Following this thread for any updates.
    I'll be ordering soon.
I haven't seem anyone here mention ordering from Cruthhfield. Anyone order from them? They have been very good to deal with on past purchase's and have been helpful answering questions and seem to know the products they sell so I'll be buying from them. BTW, for others considering a stereo install from past experience, Crutchfield sends very good written instructions.

I ordered from Crutchfield and had no issues.

I wish I would have waited a couple months and went with a wireless Android auto headunit. Might do that in the future

Which head unit did you get? What did you lose from not going "wireless"? Any other regrets?

I have a few times. I didn't go all out on the sound systems, just installed the head units on my previous rides. The instructions from Crutchfield made it super easy!

Sorry to revive this thread. I have the 8000NEX unit which I like alot with an imaestro SW for the steering wheel. Am thinking of upgrading to the 8200NEX with the RR imaestro. Anyone done this? Wiring harness the same between units? Do you get all the gauges withe the OBD and tire pressure? Is carplay more responsive? Not sure this would be "worth it" for me but I'd love to have the gauges and a little more responsiveness. Thanks.

For those that have installed the 8200nex, I’m putting mine in today and everything seems to Ben working fine but my OEM microphone isn’t not working. I really don’t want to use the included external mic. Any suggestions?

    ETA

I also have these three factory wires with no apparent place to plug them in. Any ideas where they go or if ta related to my mic?

You can't use factory mic. Those plugs are factory gray-USB, Black-SAT Radio, White-GPS. All those plug into back of Head unit with a wire adaptor kit

These should be what you need, but ask crutchfield and they will help. It shows the 8400 but it should be same as 8200 as far as the parts needed.

What do you mean by responsive? Do you notice some lag in the system? I do, especially on startup.

Slow start and bit of a lag after an input.
I ended up upgrading to the wireless version which I really like, seems snappier and faster boot. Also the wireless carplay is awesome.

W8400nex. Don’t ever use the nav built in though so w4400nex would have probably worked fine for me. I found a good deal on it though.
