After taking off my stock front skid plate and locating the two support brackets that are held in with 7(?) bolts, I noticed I was unable to unscrew them. Then I see there are nuts attached to the other end that I cant access really access (No lift, i'm doing this while laying on the floor).

Watching videos of people installing their RCI front skid plate I noticed everyone was just able to unscrew it on one side without a nut holding onto the other end. Has anyone ran into this issue? Not sure why mine has this.

What do you mean you can’t unscrew it? Is the head of the bolt spinning and the bolt won’t come out? Or you can’t get the bolt to turn at all?

The nut is welded onto the bracket, I didn’t see any other Tacoma’s have a but at all, let alone welded on nut

Sounds like maybe the weld nut broke and it's just spinning in place with the bolt attached to it. Can you feel where the weld nut is to confirm? If that's the case, you can get the bolt out if you pull down on it hard while loosening it...basically pull down on it with pliers while turning it loose.

If the weld nut isn't broken then the bolt might have stripped threads, in which case you should still be able to get it out the same way. If it's a big bolt we're talking about, I've used a pry bar before to push down on it (assuming you have it partially out already) while loosening it with a socket and that gets it out eventually.
