    Morning TW Fam,

I'm looking to finally install some westcott 20 degree sliders this weekend. Currently my frame is coated in woolwax from the fall. My plan was to clean the contact surfaces with the sliders/backing plates that were provided and apply a clean coat of woolwax in those areas where the sliders and plates touch the frame. I figure it'll provide extra protection for if the sliders/plates ever rub any paint off the frame. Does anyone see a downside to doing this?

I did that to mine when I installed mine. I might have also sprayed rust reformer/converter too before I did Woolwax… I can’t remember lol… if not I had thought about it.
I couldn’t think of any drawbacks besides it being a little messy.

I also applied a nice thick coat of protectant before mounting my sliders. I mounted the sliders when the protectant was still tacky so it would ideally be fluid enough to contour to the two surfaces and create a nice water-tight bond. Then once the sliders were installed, I applied another coat to the seams and bolt/nuts.

Yep then just spray it all over again when you reapply - it should keep creeping around underneath them for the most part.

Can't see why it would hurt. I would spray another layer on, especially the fasteners, afterwards if they're bolt on
